So I now have 400 miles on the truck and have noticed the transmission seems odd at low speeds. When running at about 10 mph I can ease the pedal down watch the rpms go up and the transmission takes a few seconds to pick up. This may be normal, Im not an expert on tansmissions but it feels like when my pump was going out on old truck of mine. Or when you are low on fluid but I checked it to rule that out. Read a few bad things about these transmissions so I just wanted to see if this was normal?

Thanks all,

Chris

That is weird but normal for the automatic, mine has done it since new and have saw several other post about it.

What RPM's are you turning when you do this? If the RPM's are not up to the stall speed of the converter this will happen.

Between 1 and 2k I assumed this was due to some sort of stall converter. I have never dealt with one so dont have first hand exp. I just wanted to make sure that this was the cause and that I didnt have any issues. I think this confirms that its ok.

Thanks all,

Chris

Happens to me sometimes as well.....no biggie....these transmissions are actually a vast improvement over the previous, weaker Dodge auto....

That's what it sounds like to me. It's just ramping up to the stall speed.

Used to have a frat brother that was fond of saying everyone who lives north of Beeville, Tx is a damn yankee...Georgetown, included.

Welcome, have fun, and drive it like you stole it.
