Hey Guys,

Got to see my 06 RC NR last week, awesome!! Very, very, dirty from MAF and fumigation etc but still awesome to see in person for the first time. However, it had some damaged done during shipping in the weirdest place. I'm not sure exactly what it is, I'm guessing it's the transmission cooler? Can someone please confirm this and hopefully a part # or supplier I can get a new replacement from. It's not the rad but the fin cooler in front.

I'm sure it would work OK but it just looks terrible. Is it worth looking at a bigger capacity cooler while I'm at it or? :dontknow: Photos below of the damage. Again, I have no idea how the F#%k it could have happened. The hood has no damage, so, to do that kind of damage the hood would have had to been up. :( Anyhow, thanks for the help and and input into replacing it.

Cheers,
Carl

That is part of the A/C.....wont hurt anything as long as it has not been puncutured........but I dont see how that damage happened unless the hood was up>.:dontknow: ....congrats on receiving your truck anyway..

Thanks mate, sure is an awesome truck. I replaced the battery (it got sucked dried in the container over) and was the first person in NZ to push her button and start her over. 1st time not a problem. I made vroom vroom sounds, played with the shifter and pedals...very nice. It's a very "cosy" and comfortable truck, sitting up large in there you feel real safe and in control. A/C eh! Cool, I will do some searching on eBay etc for "zed" A/C part. If anyone else has a part number etc please let me know. It may work but it looks poos so HAS to go. :)

Not sure the part number, but it is the A/C condensor. It will have to go to the shop to be fixed unless you know a A/C guy. Once this piece is removed you will loose all the freon and need recharging. Shouldnt take too long to get it done.

That damage could be cause by the air blockers. If something was bumping your grill hard enough, it will cause the type of damage.

Consider yourself very lucky thats all the damage you got. If I remember correctly a member named Kalani's truck was all scuffed up from the container and needed alot of repainting.

Thanks guys, yup, definitely lucky indeed. :) My 'Cuda also got damaged on it's way to NZ. It received a massive dent in the roof. I've seen and heard a lot of horror stories being an importer myself, but, it still sucks when it happens to you.

jrgnd - Thanks but as I said there is no damage on the grille or the front end at all so the hood would have had to be opened and this damage done while it was up, how? I have no idea, very strange. Thanks guys, I have the info needed to resurrect the damage.

That is some bizarre damage.
Esp. considering that the hood would have to be up for it to happen.
That means someONE is responsible.
Bill 'em.

Thanks Kevan, bloody weird eh.....I would bill 'em but insurance is $1k excess so it won't cover it. :(

Thanks mate. :) Nice cars, no money lol. :p

Nope, only the Ram has to be converted by law. If the car is older than 20 years (-1988) it doesn't need to be converted. If it's older (1988+) you have two main options. Convert it to RHD via a professional shop. Or, own the car in it's country of origin for 90 days or more, then import it back and you can keep it LHD. After the Ram I am done for cars for good, just gas and maintaining money only. :D
