a month ago the truck started doing it once in a while at 1/4 throttle then went away.....tonight it really started doing it even at 1/2 throttle until it gets over 3,000 rpm's?? sounds like it is starving for fuel? clogged fuel filter? I have no f'in clue...something to do with the venting on the gas tank? any insight or experiences are appreciated! truck has 24,000 miles. lots of back pressure too when you let off the throttle.

Have you been running some of the cheap gas (costco, safeway, Arco) by chance?

My manager has a V10 in his Excursion (yes, he's Ford guy, but still a good guy anyways) a few weeks ago his wife filled it with gas at Sams Club. Truck would hardly run. Took it in and it was the gas. Only cost him $300.00+ to find that out.

Another thing to consider is running some injector cleaner through it to see if that helps.

the plugs are only one year old...14k miles on them....they are cooler plugs for NOS.

I am running the stock PCM. Haven't touched a thing there. Could maybe be a mis fire....maybe one of the plug wires/caps is coming loose and cutting in and out? Still stock wires.

Sanchoba....that is interesting cause I do have a tap on my TPS wire going to the NOS selonoids.

Silver....I thought about the cheap gas....think I filled up at a Citgo last time.

Drove the truck out to the UFC fight after starting this thread.....truck was at 180 degrees when we started out.....no cutting in and out. Once we got in traffic and it got to 210 degrees it was cutting out like crazy! Ran like complete ass and was even cutting out at higher rpm but especially at the lower ones under a load.

On the 15 minute ride home she never missed a beat....didn't cut out once even at full operating temp? I got on her hard a couple times to test her out and she was fine? Guess I'll keep an eye on her.

Fuel issue or spark issue comes to my mind....I'll check that TPS wire though.

has anyone heard of a fuel filter needing to be replaced?

There have been several TPS issues here. I would do a search and read up about em.

Does kinda sound like a bad wire or plug connection too??? I dunno? All plug wires snug?

If it was bad gas it wouldn't just go away, until the tank was empty.. had this problem once when i bought some Ethanol blended stuff.. I only put 20 bucks in to test it and it didn't clear until i put in a full tank of my "regular" fuel.

i know yours is modified but mine does the same thing - im sure its the TPS
