After installing the Bassani headers, JMB catless mids and the Magnaflow cat back it is almost unbearable to drive at 80 MPH or above. Any suggestions on how to make it a little quieter? I saw that Magnaflow makes tips similar to the ones that come on their exhaust but have resonators built into them. Any suggestions?

Put the cats back in. I also have Roe unit. You dont need the headers (please lets not go off on this one!). Put the exhaust Manis back on . The cast iron has lots of sound damping
ability. I have HF cats and catback. At 80 MPH there is NO SOUND!

are you running the 2-1/2" version of the jmb mids, or the special order 3" ends which require you to cut off the 2-1/2" neck down on the cat back?

You can always turn up the tunes!:D

 That's my set-up to a tee! Except for the brand names....did I mention that set-up would be better suited
for a R/C and NOT a Q/C.:nurse:
All I have to do is change gears, something you can't do in your auto.....:bebored:

I'm running the 2 1/2" version. As for the improvement, it would be hard to tell considering I put everything on all at once. I believe that they add about 15hp on a NA engine.

How about this, If you end up Putting your CAT's back on, I would be happy to make you an Offer in Your CAT less mids. I would have no problem Driving down to pick them up.......

Send me a Personal Message if you might be Interested!!!!!

Does anyone have any feedback on the Magnaflow resonated tips? I won't be putting my cats back on, just trying to make it bearable. I have a 5 hour trip in a couple of weeks I'm dreading.

A QC will always be louder because it doesnt have near the overdrive of the RC trucks. I would put the catback to stock way before I would put the stock manifolds back on. I could not tell any difference in sound level going from stock manifolds to long tube belangers, only the tone changed.

First of all you shouldnt be running 80mph :p the speed limit in Fla is 70mph, but I frequent the dingleberry of america freqeuntly so I understand:D

But the tips "may" cut down the noise some, but c'mon you went cat delete, you really didnt expect a 505 cubic inch v-10 to be quiet did ya:p

The other thing is you will have to hack up the exhaust you just put on to make them work.

honestly the best and smartest thing to do is install hi flow cats, you want loose any hp maybe 5-7, and it will be quieter.

but on our qc i have long tubes, no cats, and magnaflow and at 70 or so , all I hear is a light rumble:dontknow:

ive got the bassani's and x-metal catless- granted i have no SC- but at about 45-50 i get some serious resonation but after that its pure sound magic- STRONG and NASTY!

Justin is absolutely right, I have had MANY sets of headers on small blocks and big blocks, the underhood noise nor the interior noise changed at all over the cast iron manifolds.

If you do go back to the stock manifolds, have them Jet-Hot coated.
I'll put $20 that you don't loose any HP vs. the headers.

Keep everything....

Go to a muffler shop and have them weld in a set of magnaflow resonators....

Hopefully Prof will chime in tomorrow (or you could PM him) he has a good set-up. :)

The threshold is about 78 MPH. Once you hit 80, you can barely have conversation in it. If I went with high flow cats, which ones would you recommend?
