Turn the ignition on and off three times...on the third time leave it on...the code will show in your dash....

You should also disconnect your negative lead to your battery for a few minutes, which reboots your computer...then reattach the cable and try to start it...if you did not disconnect your battery during the install you may have dropped a wrench on a hot lead and shorted something...or just touched the wrong thing with the headers...

Try rebooting...if it does not start...get the code as mentioned above and post it...

yep. thats your sentry system acting up. do you have another key? use that one and see what happens.

all i have is the grey dodge key. is this the right key or is it a valet key?

sounds like your passkey might be bad. do you have another key? (yes the grey key) there is a computer chip in it.

He called me and he is working on his boss's truck...it is throwing an O2 code, but the boss has cut off the two back sensors...

He is going to call the owner and get another key.

ok we got a new code after we cleared the codes with an auto tap. its p0340 which is a cam position sensor does anyone know where the cam sensor is? or have any ideas?

check your grounds to start. sounds like something is not connected. what exactly is it doing? does it start then shut off and a red light on the cluster is a solid red?

Ya, it starts gives a few compression strokes and then stalls. It is acting the same way my GTO did after I fired it up after the cam install but before the tune. Some other symptoms:
-It stalls, but the tac shoots to ~4,000 rpm, but the truck is not reving, just acting like it has a huge cam.
-It poors smoke out of the tailpipes (understandable-catless mids) but after it stalls, it lets a little puff of smoke out of the breather filter.
-It has a Roe racing tune thingy, and we put 2 diffrent tunes in it-same results
-we checked every wire, connection, spark plug, plugwire, injector wire, pcm and ecm connections, roe unit connections, O2 connections, everything.

We tried both keys, no change. Neither tune made a diffrence. This is def. a tune issue, I have done 4 sets of headers in GTO's and have run em all with no tune. I ran my own car with full exhaust for 8 months with no tune and no issues. So we are really stumped. We are going to call Roe in the morning and see what their thoughts are. But I would like to hear any thoughts you guys may have. It is def. strange.

Roe tune thingy ? Meaning a VEC2/3 ?

Code sounds orthogonal to the header install. Engine wont start if you have a real cam sensor error. Could order and replace the cam sensor....not that expensive and you have to be careful replacing it. Its easy to install it wrong and when you crank the engine it could break the sensor.

Ya, the VEC3 is what he said. Sorry, I am no too familar with Mopar mods.

What would randomly cause the cam sensor to freak like that? It ran fine before the header install. We didn't ground it out or anything, the battery was off the whole time. The sensor is in the front of the water pump, no where near the header or the area in the way of the install.

it definitely sounds like u shorted something out while changing out the headers,i mean the truck runs fine then all of a sudden it wont even start only after the header install

My best guess would be that the cam position sensor connector has been knocked loose, or a wire to it has been damaged. I know you've already been through it, but I'd suggest checking all connections again thoroughly.

I will check the cam position sensor again. I will also find out what Roe thinks.
