I bought my 10 in Nov of 2010 with only 23000 miles, now it has 28k, I bought it with a CEL from the dealership, luckily i got the max care warranty, every since its been to the dealership like 4 times, 3 to 5 days at a time.

So far they have replaced the battery, cluster, removed aftermarket hids, two new o2 sensors and now they are going to replace the PCM, hopefully this time they get it right, the truck would not start after sitting two days.

Its a QC and i love the way it rides and sounds, but im kind of getting fed up with having a "new" truck that does not start, are these things not to reliable?

Thanks in advance

Btw its an 06

What code is it throwing?

Check the code by turning the ignition on and off three times and leave it on the third time...the code will show in the dash display.

That is where we need to start...or do you have a code reader?

We have a few really knowledgeable owners in the Miami area...and I will be in Marathon in a week or two...so we will get you some help.

These trucks are very reliable...but as WOT stated, dealers are pretty weak when it comes to them...does your dealer have a certified Viper Tech???

My 06 has been great so far :dontknow:

Electrical gremlins are a bit tough to find. Its not like you can see a physical part broken.

Sounds VERY familiar! Not with my Ram but with my 2001 RT/10, don't know how it happened but in the wiring harness there were two seperate shorts creating a power draw, no one could read a draw because they were checking the battery, after 3 years I found a REAL electrician who tested every wire, took 2 weeks. Found all the issues, replaced what needed to be replaced and now no more dead batteries. I knwo it sounds far fetched but if teh person you tied in your HID lights or if you have an after market stereo, they may have screwed up your wiring harness indirectly. :dontknow:

Find another dealer to do the repairs sounds like there just throwing parts at it.

My PCM died out of nowhere leading to a no start, I had a lot of odd symptoms leading up to the failure. Had the truck towed to the dealership to have it repaired and never saw it in one piece again...long story. Good luck.

wohooo

Got the truck back this morning, they replaced the PCM, it used to get 8-9 mpg in the city , im getting 12 now , hopefully it i let it sit for more than 2 days she will start.

The truck is completely stock (that i know of), it has a K&N panel filter and a flowmaster muffler, no aftermarket alarms or anything like that, the fog lights did look like a hack job.

Thats an awesome tip! thanks, the dealer is a five star so yea viper techs.

Hopefully now i could start modding and take this thing to the track.

On your repair order from the dealer it should give the diagnostic code that was found. Was it p1389? If so that's what I'm having problems with rt now and mine is an 06 qc.

Check engine light came back last night , I scanned the codes this morning,
P0100 (MAF), P0004 (FUEL VOLUME REGULATOR) P0164 (O2 SENSOR) P0154 (O2) SENSOR..

I cleared them with my scan gauge and they have not come back, but my fuel mileage is crappy again :(.

Dam! That sucks. Id take it back to them and tell them that they didnt fix it!!

Are you sure that the dealership has a Viper tech...the fact that they are a 5 star Dealer means nothing...find out who the Viper Tech is and get us his name...

I also think you need to speak with Jorge...anyone in Miami have his email address?

oops i thought five star dealerships all had viper certified techs :dontknow:, the name of the dealership is hollywood chrysler jeep, they given me two rental cars that are more fuel efficient than the truck so that's good, but it kind of sucks going back and forth to the dealer and leaving the truck.

the truck is under full warranty so i havent paid anything out of pocket, thats why ill let them throw parts at it until its fixed.

will turning the ignition on and off three times work to pull the code if you have an RB4 or only with the standard RBC?

It shows up in the dash panel just above the steering wheel...not the nav system...
