Tstat needed?

Do we even need the Tstat in this rig.


All the tstat does is stop fluid from flowing until the engine reaches 170 degrees after that its wide open..

so if ya take it out completely it would technically just take longer to get to full temp would it not?

would there be any reason not to just remove it?
 
From what I understand, the thermostat also slows the flow of water down. If you were to take it out, the water wouldn't stay in the radiator long enough and it would over heat.
In race cars, they have no thermostat, but instead a restrictor plate of some sort. Or at least they use to.

CEL, yes

it can over heat if there is too much flow. but 99% of the time runs too cold.

just like too much heat, ya can have too much cold
