I notice that Stinker is selling a "Supercharger", I was wanting to add one to a stock motor to give the extra HP but it is used as a daily driver!!!!Would a Turbo be better for regular use??????????????????????????????????

How long will the stock motor last after installing any of the above???? :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

There is a few people running that setup with 40k plus so I dont think it would hurt, I have a roe and mine is a daily driver. But as some found out and spread there knowledge we wont see crazy numbers like a turbo, so It is really up to you. But I do believe if you go turbo you better at least forge the pistons, I think someone else will chime in.

The biggest HP numbers are from the JMB Turbo. The fastest track time to date is on a nitrous injected paxton. Both of these trucks are streetable. There are not any kits for turbo though. I am excluding the STS as it has a terrible history and the only person who has had success with it. In either case, the most important part is the tune. The stock paxton really could benefit from a reengineered fuel system (larger injectors and SCT or VEC).

The biggest thing: If you go FI plan to forge. You will need it sooner or later. Many have been ok without it. Many with the same set up have not. It is a roll of the dice.

How much was he shooting? cause after I do my forging I want to go with an 8lb pulley and I allready have the nos but 150shot.

I am not sure. I have heard tale of it being a 350 shot, but that may not be true. He did a major build though, and he was using a very nice nitrous set up. He also had a tune from a very gifted tuner, Chris Jensen of DC Performace.

A Paxton kit on a stock engine would be my choice, although personally I would upgrade the fuel system and use an SCT tuner rather than the kit's fuel and tuning solution. Second, I would have a very experienced tuner dial the system in.

With a great tune (meaning ZERO detonation, especially under boost) and judicious use of the right pedal, a stock motor should last a good while as a daily driver.

the fastest mph is on a jmb turbo:D :D
and the fastest time on drs is a jmb turbo:D :D

after all is said and done, you may have 5-8k in a paxton set up, that is if you leave it alone and are happy with the results which most are not.

with a turbo, be prepared to spend at least 30-40k

both give great daily driving

if i was not planning on forging and having a good dd buy stinkers paxton i woupd buy it but im broke

there is a couple looking, but to me, I still love the turbos, too much potential.

but you really need forged internals with the pressure obtainable with the turbos the pistons will eventually fail.

but if you leave the paxton alone.........and dont try for more boost, and are happy with 560-600hp..........you should be fine for a good while.

its only when the pressures start getting pushed, you start bumping up boost, the pistons start failing.

I mean..........560rwhp............from 420rwhp,,,,,,,,,is an awesome jump.........jsut dont satisfy some;)

One guy had 40K miles on his truck with paxton on a stock engine, whats the longest stock engine life with a ROE bolted on?
dont remember litemup? someone had tons of miles on theres.

but keeping the boost low is the key.;)

Thanks for the info, what maintenance is involved with the supercharger???? I understand that periodic tuning is key:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:

You are correct in it being a 350 shot but it was a ramped 350. The nitrous was direct port as well. Not only did Chris Jensen do a custom tune he was also hired to be there the entire day that the record was set. Chris kept making little changes which resulted in that 10.73 run at 125mph.

Putting on a supercharger or turbo without forging the internals is constructing a time bomb pure and simple. Don't even think about any power adders until the engine is forged.

every 30k miles change the oil in the charger, and if sean tunes it thats all until you mod some more. If you can if there are any members near you with one of each and have them give you a ride. I was a turbo guy:D but once I put put the roe:marchmellow: :marchmellow: I love it. so it is more of a preferance. so ask for a test ride.:p

Good advise, I wonder who in the Tampa area has that set up????:dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:
