Just been thinking lately and ive figured now would be a good time to start doing some research on slaping a turbo. My goal is 600rwhp on all stock internals. And must be a Daily Driver with some racing every once in while. From what ive been reading here and there i know these basic rule of thumbs.

1. Stock internals are good for 600rwhp max (reliable)
2. It is a must to keep these motors running rich with F.I
3. Clutch should be upgraded

Now, wat i dont know is what size of turbo should i get? 40, 60, 70? What all do i need to replace? Before ya'll get rattled up, i dont want to end up having a TOP NOTCH $10,000 system nor an Ebay set up. Something in between (around $3-4k). And yes i know what some of you are gonna say "should have gone forged while you were in there" yes i know but i was in a hurry and my budget was VERY limited.
So with that said, i know there are other similar threads out there but i cant find any. So could you guys please point me in the right direction and share some usefull links i can read on? Remember, i am in the early research stage, Just wanna look up some info first, Thanks.

Just don't get a used STS

I have a Roe supercharger setup for sale hat will get you in that rwhp range. A little above your budget but tons more fun on the street than a turbo would be.

Where you mounting turbo? Single or twins? What kinda intercooler set up? You will need injectors, fuel pump, colder plugs, a/f guage, boost gauge, sct tuner and a great tune.

i want a single in the engine bay passanger side. I dont know what intercooler, hense why i posted this thread. Any recomandations? I thought fuel pump was good for 600? I know im gonna need a tri-pillar with the gauges for sure ha. What about exahust manifold? Where can i get one? Or does it have to be custom build?

Right now my thought is 60% Turbo, 30% Procharger and 10% S/C...If i can get a great deal on a Procharger then hey, i might do that. How ever currently i feel that buying pieces at a time is best.

Ok your going to need around a 78mm -88mm turbo. Manifolds will have to be custom made. You don't want to push a stock pump that hard and wouldn't make that kinda power being F.I. I would go air to air intercooler. You can actually use a ram diesel intercooler will bolt right up. Not the best intercooler but it will work.

this is from experience! stay away from turbos with stock pistons! to much overlap creates detonation that will grenade stock pistons!

Also unless you can do most of the custom work your self would be extremely hard to stay on your budget

Why not port your heads, install a cam? Way cheaper and lots of power to be had. I know.....I'm a N/A guy!:D

What's your budget on the next engine?
There's no cheap horsepower when it comes to a Viper V10

You clearly have your goals set, and if you are serious about sticking to them, go with the roe. Easy 600 hp, bolt on and go. With the turbo, a good wastegate, bov, fuel system, custom piping, custom tune, the truck will be down a while too. But either way, DON'T scrimp on fuel and a tune. Good luck.

I know we're there is a paxton and procharger possibly for sale if you change your mind. There is also a Roe on here for sale

Alright, good know.

Really?... wat you make rwhp and how much was the buchers bill?

N/a Power comes on with RPM.The higher you rev it the harder it pulls! forced induction is the power comes on with boost. hard on tires! difficult to drive and win races on the street ! but SO much fun!! Like driving on linolium!

Butcher?? My truck looks dead stock under the hood....If people ask, I have added headers. :D

Seriously, check to see what Greg Good charges to port some heads, get a cam ground to your chosen spec and away you go.

A little spray maybe?
