The first thing I thought was that the dealership guys took your truck out for a joy ride. 70 miles is ridiculous. Before you tell them how many miles were racked up, you should ask them EXACTLY where your truck was driven. Make a big deal of this. If they say they don't know, tell them they better find out because you had miles put on your truck while in their posession. If you contact your insurance company to claim this, tell them everything about the service, the miles put on the truck while in the dealerships possession, etc. They will investigate. Tell the dealer you plan to inform your insurance company of the fact that they just serviced your vehicle before this happened. Once you know where they drove, go drive the route and see how many miles it is. Tell the dealership you are going to do this so they better find out exactly where it was driven because you are going to check the mileage on the route they give you and it better match the miles they put on your truck. This will get their attention and they will look into it. They might even get real nice if they look into it and find that an employee took it out for a joy ride. They won't want you to report it to insurance and have an insurance investigator come out. Hopefully I am wrong about this. You will know if something funny happened if they give you wrong information about the mileage put on your truck.

You should get hard assed with the dealership. Unless you just want to do an insurance claim. But there goes your clean carfax if you file a claim.

 70 miles IS ridiculous, I agree with getting hard assed with them. Your insurance definitely needs to be made aware of the extra unaccounted for miles. I know a guy that had to take his ’04 RC to a stealership in Houston. A few months later it was returned to him with an extra 212 miles on it AND his engine was blown within 30 miles of getting it back.. Of course he shoved a lawsuit up their arses that he will undoubtedly prevail in. Let this be a lesson to everyone that checking the mileage before leaving your vehicle at a shop is imperative.

This is why when my truck goes to the dealer(which by the way is BELL DODGE IN Hampton, NJ, who takes VERY good care of me) i take one of the GPS tracker units from work and place it in the truck somewhere out of site....
then i can tell exactly where my truck is, how fast it's going, and if it goes over a pre-set speed, i get a text message to my cell.:D
One time when my truck was in for a window switch, i got a text saying my truck was out and it was over 30 MPH. I called the dealer all ready to bitch since there was no reason to test drive my truck for a window switch issue when i was told that the viper tech just took it out to FILL MY GAS TANK!!! Now that's service!:elefant: :elefant: :elefant:

It is a 35 mph speed zone going down a slight incline which at the end of there is a 90 degree turn to the right The road is one I have traveled for several years. I was approaching the turn but not yet to it, with the brakes softly applied & my speed was about 15mph when the brake squel went to a loud sqreach then the steering wheel jerked unexpectedly hard to the right. Then the curb was right there & it all happened within a couple seconds. The curb was maybe 10" to 12" high but not sure! It did damage a spot of the wheel & took a good bite out of my tires sidewall by the damaged spot of the wheel.

I bought my truck from Carmax used but in supposedly excellent condition! It is a Black 2005 QC that had 20k on it & I paid a sticker price of $29,595 for it plus the extended bumper to bumper 60 month or 60k mile warranty. It is stock completely without any upgrades except new tires as far as I could tell. Despite the fact that it listed as having a front cd changer but did not & me wishing it had a sunroof & a bed cover, I was absolutely pleased with my selection untill a couple weks ago. But I dont have any intentions on getting rid of it just got to figure out what to do on getting it repaired because I cant afford to ecspecially knowing Im not at fault!

It sounds like your caliper locked up. Reason for this? :dontknow: I would be getting the calipers and the work the dealer supposedly did inspected by a known/trusted/competent party.

I bet your wheel bearings went....there was a dodgy lot fitted.

please tell me you weren't using the carmax dealer...i've been very happy with the carmax in my area, (on my second car with them, and almost bought my 10 from them) but i would NEVER take anything other than a civic to them for service...they never have the parts, and always keep it longer than they should...in their defense, i'm sure they're "trained" on a shitload of vehicles, so that's ok, and even tho they keep it longer, they're the one's paying for the rentals, and they're always nice about it...but if you got the warranty from them, take it to a local dealer with a good rep and a viper tech...the deductible is only a little bit more if it's not at serviced at carmax...BTW...sounds like the caliper locking up...and do keep us posted...

Change the pads to the ceramic pads, that helped mine with the squeelling and sticking while driving it stop and go traffic.

Carmax's extended warranty is one of the worst warranties I have ever dealt with.

i guess to each his own...i blew 3 pistons out of one of my z28's...racing no less...and they replaced the whole thing...4 grand worth....i've never had a problem with it, and everything that i've had a problem with, they've fixed...i just think their service dept. is so overwhelmed with all different kinds of vehicles that they don't know enough about all of them to adequately repair them if they were a specific dealer...but maybe i'm the 2% who checks all the "good" boxes instead of fair or poor....

I imagine that their warranty is much better at the carmax service dept. But I had a customer who owned a pacifica (she bought it from car max a week prior). Her right front wheel bearing went out and her instrument cluster shit the bed. We contacted the warranty company and they wanted to send out an adjuster. The adjuster comes and is a complete moron. He said that their was nothing wrong with the cluster, even though it wouldnt light up and the gauges didnt move. then we moved on to the wheel bearing and he said it failed because the tire was bald. I asked him if he was serious and he absolutley was. He called carmax and told them what he found and of course they denied the repair. We requested another adjuster and they refused to send one. :dontknow: :dontknow: Customer ended up having to pay for the repair.

the hell i would have paid for it...ida drove that bitch through the double doors of the service dept....that's effin rediculous...
