Well I am really happy with it.

The same day my truck arrived I took a 200 miles drive down to Norfolk. The powertrain performed flawlessly. To my amazement at 70 MPH the truck is close to pre-SC in noise level. The fuel economy varied obviously by speed. 60=17MPG, 70=14.5MPG, 80=13MPG. I have been in stop and go traffic almost the whole time I've been down here. The truck get's up to 210F(88F ambient temp) but not above it. One thing to mention is that I have the Bassani headers and no heat shields. I am pretty sure that if I used some heat shields the truck would run cooler.

The suspension and overall feel is far superior than my old lowering kit. By far the most complements the truck get is how stable and smooth the ride is. This is coming from guys, gals, heck even a 7 year old. The caltracs are simply amazing as they keep me straignt when the truck is loosing traction thru 1st, 2nd and part of 3rd.

Now to the power. I had to admit that I was leaning more to a screw type when I wanted to FI it. I can tell you that inclination was unfounded. The power produced by this SC at 7.5 #(with the proper intercooler) is more than enough for a stock bottom end. Please remember that my tune is a street tune and according to Wideband it's pretty conservative. I am pretty sure I can blow my engine if I had a race tune and drove the truck like it had a built bottom end. But I would be make scary power until then..:D :D

One last thing. His propietary intercooler is outstanding. If I drive the truck at a constant speed and pull over to touch the inboard intercooler or the outlet going to the throttle body, it's cool, I mean 60-70 degrees (on the inboard) and 80-90(on the outlet).

I used my RC car Thermo gun to verify the temps so I don't no how accurate it is.

Well that's my update..

BTW, on the highway going 70 in 48 F weather my oil temp was 179 degrees and coolant temp was 172-173F. The whole 200 miles...:burnout:

You shouldnt be getting that hot JR.....With the flash and the bigger intercooler you should be under 200 deg. Do you have the 170 t-stat and I saw your big fan...Id call Boomer cuz I think your running hot....I have the same headers and a little bigger intercooler but a small fan and I neveer hit 200 anymore...

I bet your truck will run 200-210 with your new engine. I don't think a intercooler has anything to do with the cooling of the engine.:dontknow:

I can attest to his comments. The truck is BAD!! And the intercooler for the liquid is great. The outlet tube to the throttle body was deff cool to the touch. And the intercooler was cold. Very cool (pun intended) system. The ride was very nice but firm, and the stance is awesome. I agree that the temp is a bit high in traffic, but I'm no expert. The wow factor at cruise in's and shows is amazing. People come from all over the parking lot to look and gape at it. Very nice.

I look forward to Rick moving down here to Norfolk. I'll have someone to hang with now!!!

Sounds like you got a pretty badass ride.....hell, in town my truck is always running around 200....the three hour drive to Boomers yesterday, my truck never got over 170.....except going through a town with stoplights every 30 yards it got up to about 200-210....all stop and go.....have fun with 'er :burnout: ...........bikertat

The intercooler lowers you air charge temp going ibto the manifold and will directly help keep u running cooler. The flash will turn your fans on earlier and for longer and the 170 t-stat will keep the coolant flowing....all of these have a direct influence on operating temps......after I made those changes (after talking to nowwhat) my truck started operating much cooler. Oh yeah, and the water meth helps as well in keeping the IAT's down.....HEAT SOAK KILLS! :)

Thats great!!! Now get the tranny done so you could take it to the track.:burnout:  :D
