Ok, here is the question. Has anyone else had a problem with there valve cover gaskets leaking after installing there JMB CAI(I am not blameing it on the CAI at all) After the install, the next day I had to drive about 75 highway miles. I ran around 75-80 most of the way, with the exception of a couple 100-120 runs. Later that night I was checking the 10 over and noticedoil on the driverside of the block and down the underside of the truck.
I have about 38000 on the truck and as far as I know the gaskets have never been replaced. Has anyone else had a problem with there valve cover gaskets before. I checked to make sure that the hoses were not blocked and they are ok. Like I said I am not blameing the CAI, it just happened at the same time:dontknow: So any input will help. PS it is a bit** to get gaskets around here. Thanks Brad

not sure what caused the leaking...but "RAM FROM HELL" has gaskets for $10.00 bucks a piece! search the buy/sell section and its under his "garage sale"

I know this sounds "odd" but the o-ring in the twist on o.e.m. oil filler cap dries out and shrinks after a while. The ones with black rings were replaced with newer caps with green o-rings and they don't leak. I had the "same" problem with mine thought it was the valve cover gasket. Same deal, oil down the side of the block on the Driver's side. It was hard to find the source because the oil was clean and clear. After I replaced the cap, no more "valve cover gasket" problems.

Maybe the same for you??

there was no signs at all of any oil before and then there was oil all down the side and all over the bottom side, and dripping on floor(10 parks in garage)AND I ALREADY PULLED THE VALVE COVERS OFF:mad:

Are both the valve cover vents still functioning, i.e. if you installed a catch can also, make sure the tubes are not kinked anywhere.

Yes I checked them they are both ok, I just think that it was time for the gaskets to go , but I was just checking with others on here for anything else. Like I said I love the catch can and the CAI, I don't think it is that.

were any of the valve cover bolts loose??????
