The VEC 2 is what you make it. The flash is great if you don't have access to a dyno or time to do so. Some crazies will get both the flash and the VEC. There are advantages from each to be shared, especially from the QCs. So if you have the money get both. We can help you with the tunning, or as others have said, Sean Roe and Dave at Roe Racing will send you a conservative tune. Then dyno your truck with that tune, get the graph with AF ratio and email it back. They will retune your vehicle. Heck, we can do it for you too. Nevertheless, Sean is the master with the VEC and will always find time to help you. (However, leave him alone, we want his SC in full production! :D :D :D )

Well said Bone.One thing I will add it I am a big proponent of real world data logging for the street.Dyno tuning is great for getting big numbers and will provide a good platform for tuning.IMHO though nothing loads on the street like the street.If you have wide band capability and can get real world #`s throughout the powerband THAT is where the most gains can be had.

Bone is VERY adept at tuning and will be most willing to help you through it.Sean Roe is a master tuner and the US distributer of the VEC 2 .
 
I have dyno'd both the VEC2 alone (with Sean's conservative tune he sends out with the VEC) and Boomer's Flash alone. I'm not going to start a war between the vendors, however, they both had very similar results on my truck, VEC did better in some RPMS and Boomer's in others. I doubt if you would notice the difference seat of the pants with one vs the other. My truck did not have pinging from the stage 2, but I did have a good deal of mods on my truck for the flash to ensure it didn't. I did not inject Methanol for either of the dyno's.

So I put the VEC on top of the flash since I was on the dyno and improved on the results. The VEC was able to squeak out some more ponies and improve my AF ratio. The flash raised my RPM limit which the VEC can't do, so the flash too improved my top end performance in that aspect. Injecting Methanol allowed me to increase my timing about 2.5-3 degrees over the entire RPM band. As NBT calls it, "A Raped Ape" when it was all done.:rock:

Now I have several programs I can load into the VEC (takes 2 secs) depending on multiple variables and if I want to inject meth. In addition, I have a couple NOS programs where I adjust the AF ratio for the NOS and take some timing out.
