right vent seems to be above my JMB CAI (K&N). SHould i cover the filter for heavy rain or is there no harm in case it gets wet (free water injection )?:dontknow:

You may want to look into an "Outerwear" filter cover. I used them on all of my open filters on my personal watercraft.
