I love lamp
06RC around 30k miles. once u hit around 90+mph the steering on the truck gets extremely tight.

at high speeds say 130mph on the interstate on a curve u have to grip the steering wheel very tight on 10&2 and its almost difficult to stay in the middle of the lane. if u barely turn the steering wheel it wants too turn "alot" like too much for that speed and could cause u a back and forth u might not get out of......little dangerous. kind of like ur choices at high speeds are dont turn at all, or turn way too much.

Is it possible a previouse owner put a bushing kit or something on wrong or adjusted something wrong,

If things can be adjusted how would i start?

Now when i say tight,,i mean tight,,,, it makes a brand new vette seem like a 1987 Peterbuilt. very tight

i have had my old QC over 150 and was just fine, so im pretty sure its not a srt truck thing, unless all 06RC are like this????

Where should i start? what do i do?

BTW all tires are balanced and filled to proper pressure

Thanks in advance

do the tires wear weird at all? indication something worn in the suspension....

I got the truck late last year an got it out like 6 weeks ago,

i have barely put 2k miles on it myself.

but when i was doing my wheelsa couple weeks ago i visually checked everything i could think to check under the truck, no leaks or play in anything i checked.

Now i am no certified mechanic by any means but have a basic knowledge of trucks. i might have missed something but tryin to figure it out here or see if other people have had similar problems b4 i take it too the stealership.

Power steering pump can't keep up...why ?

I don't know

i have seen bushing kits for these trucks on stinks online store to tighten up the steering. how tight would somethin like that make it. is it possible to kind of "overtighten" if u will, while installing?

I don't know

are u jokin???? or seriouse, like the PSP wont react until u have ?built up pressure? enough to turn the tires and at that point its too much?

If ur jokein i just sounded like an idiot, lmoa

also the truck turns and handles perfctly at normal legal speedlimits, 75mph on the interstate u would never bat an eye, seem great

Jeff was serious... I replaced my pump already because of it being weak..... But mine was opposite...it was hard to turn at an idle but got better once i gave it some gas

nothin like that, evrything runs perfect and no noise from the power steering,

it only happens at high speed and seems the faster u go the worse it gets. now i know thats true for every vehicle but not quite this extreme

Take it to a frontend shop and have them do an alignment. Sounds like to much toe in. Has the truck a lowering kit?

Had the Same thing happen to my truck replaced the power string pump and all the lines it is fine check to see if you still have the worinte

are you tal;kin about my truck or troys? No warrenty left

I does not have a lowering kit, i am gettin redy (soon as i have time..lol) to install stinks rear lowering kit, i think i will take it into an alignment shop and have them double check after i put the kit on

Mine does that too! Drives percect but steering is VERY touchy at speeds over 100!

I have been to 150 mph and had no issues with staying in my lane. After the lowering kit I don't think I will see those speeds again! Truck runs pretty close to tue rubber blocks in the back and the roads are to damn unpredictable and rough!!!

Yeah i had no issues with my QC, so i dont think it is a viper truck thing,

soething is deffinatle wrong for it to be as touchy as it is at high speeds, i think im gunna take the advise and make sure to get them alligned and balanced again then if its still a problem, start looking at the power steering components

Stinker's poly bushin mod is great.

with all bushins installed it does make it a very big improvement over the stock rubber ones

where the stock ones are still flexin, with the same input, Stinkers poly you have already made your manuver.

what color are the stock ones and do u think it would loosen or relax things up if i put stinks kit on?

stock is black softish rubber

they basicly "tighten" things up. much less flex compared to the stockers. steerin responce is greatly improved & a bit firmer ride also

get your alinment checked for sure though

the thought did cross my mind that it has already had a "not-so-good" kit installed incorrectly or too tight:dontknow:

is that even a possibility with just bushings

Mine is an 04 and it is down right scary to drive fast on curvy roads around here, roads I know like the back of my hands. Doesn't have a problem at all til I get over 100 tho and that doesn't happen as much as it did when I was younger. If you get it figured out let me know!
