ive' been thinking....no dreaming about the possibiliy of buying a viper (i'd keep the truck) i was looking on the auto trader website and there are quite a few new 06's left, including a CE for $79,000.00:rock: but i'm thinking prices will come down when the new viper hits the showrooms and dealer lots.any thoughts on how much i might be able to pick one up for, once that happens?

I read a post from another forum about a member that bought an 06 for several $K under dealer invoice...he attributed the price cut to the new 08 coming out..dealer wanted to get read of it..

I paid $65K for my new Copperhead last year. You just need to look hard and stick to your guns on price. If you really want a great deal you can find it, but just make sure that you don't buy an 06 and then think...gosh, I wish I had an 08 (sort of like, "I shoulda had a V8").

That is actually a VOI9 (Viper Owners Invitational #9) car - Very Noice!!!

Not sure how cheap you'll be able to pick that up, but I *think* I remember a few of them going for mid-70's brand new??

I bought mine back in Feb. '07. Basic Black/No Stripes/10 Spokes. Stickered at $87,xxx. I got it for ~70K when you figure in my trade. Heard of quite a few that got a similar deal +/-.

I would've loved a VOI9 Viper, but I knew every mile I put on it would bug me just like my '95 Cobra R did. With the Cobra I managed to rack up 1,008 miles in over 8 years. Yeah, that was fun... Screw that, I wanna drive it!!::driver:

Nope! CE's were the '05 vert's in a similar paint scheme.

The VOI9 Coupe also has the Blue interior accents - Schweeeet!!!

I attempted to buy a Copper/NO Stripe/5 Spoke Coupe from Buhler Dodge in NJ back in January. I offered ~73'ish IIRC, but it sold for a tad more.

You can do better than 77K for this car. I would think a couple grand less anyway, but it depends on how much the Dealer wants to move it.

The Copper and the Blue colors look great in the sunlight!!

^^Another great point. Especially now. If you're going to speng $77-79K on an '06, you may as well wait a few months and look for a dealer who will sell an '08 at Sticker - - Another 10 grand, but 90 more HP, 25 more Torque, better trans, stronger rear, and other updates.

NO WAY would I pay 77-79K for either of those cars at this point. I swear I read somewhere that Chrysler is offering some BIG incentives to move the 06's.

IMO, assuming you're serious, you should contact those dealers, ask some questions about the cars (mileage, condition, options, etc.. whatever you want to know), make them an offer and see what they say! Leave them your phone number and let them know you're actively shopping. Worst they can do is say no.

I'd be willing to bet both of those Vipers have been on e-bay more than once by now. They just aren't selling.

I admit I don't know everything:eek: , but I wouldn't offer any more than 75K for the VOI9 car. 72-73K for the Copper. If they say no, you can always offer a bit more in a few days if you want it bad enough.

They are both untitled NEW CARS, correct?

yep already checked the VCA. i think i'll wait a few more months and see what happens, i bet there will be some bargains.
