I was told by a few people in my car club to swap out my manifold with a newer Viper manifold with the two throttle bodies and re-MAPP the computer. If I do all of this what would be the benefit? 50 HP? Someone let me know if anyone else has done this.

If you are talking about the new Gen IV intake manifold, I don't think it will bolt up to the Gen III heads. But I could be wrong.

.....um this could be one of those breakthrough moments, I can't find anything on anyone how has tried to stick a gen4 intake on a gen3, so I am going to go over to my uncles after work and have look so see if it close....

...Back when i bought my hemi it was a post like this that made us relize the 6.1 heads, intake ,and cam fit the 5.7's

There are no injector provisions on the gen 4 intake, along with a host of other issues.

Well you could swap the heads to Gen 4 as well. So I guess more like a yield sign?
I believe it will take a lot more than just that. When the changed to the variable cam timing, I think they changed to block also.

All this negativity. Just like when people told me a Viper head wouldn't bolt to a Magnum block. It bolts right to the Gen 3 engine. Looks like you would have to plug the extra water holes though. You won't have the VVT either.

Thats a good question and how much boost before it goes boom.:dontknow:

They take less boost than the Gen 3's. The piston compression height is .5mm shorter than the Gen 3's (31.5 to 31mm). 6.1L Hemi rods and pistons......

throttle by wire also????
that would be a good reprogram

There is a conversion kit for the Hemi's drive by wire and the same would work on the Viper. Gen 4 uses powdered metal rods and aluminum alloy pistons just like the Hemi.

I am saying it could be done, not that it would be easy. That is why I said a yield sign not a stop sign. If you don't want to put the effort or money into it then yes it is a stop sign.......

WOW, lots of posts! Really when I thought about the whole thing before I posted the thread, I thought it would be cool to have the twin throttle bodies and run 2 CAI's, and maybe in the future it would be good for a twin turbo set up.
