Why not just go to the Gen 2 intake?

Bill.
No I am not. I have talked to a couple of people that have tested the Gen II intake on the Gen III engine. They told me that if it is set up properly, it will make more power than the Gen III intake. I don't have any photos, or exact specs. But I know it has been done.Venom Power said:Well garsh darn it (or even more offensive) dag gummit, I would'a likt'ed to see sum foe-toes..
But you ARE talking about this setup right Bill?

listen to this guy he knows his stuff:rock:rottenronnie said:Increasing air/fuel, exhaust flow and combustion efficiency in any engine is the path to more power.
Keep in mind, the Viper engine is a performance engine to start with and most of the components (for power production) are pretty evenly matched the way they come, stock. Change stock, and you need to look at the big picture.
The cylinder heads on the new Gen IV engine are the big part of the power increase over the Gen III engine (like most have here). They flow more than the aftermarket Striker heads in the all important mid-lift region.
Have fun with your truck.
Try and make it out to the racetracks and talk to people to see what works and what doesn't and go through the archives on this Forum. There is a lot of good info here that should steer you in the right direction.
