volant intake

The Volant blew up Big Worm's truck:D :D

I would say that the intake tract is too short for that to matter. You will see the same gain from a Volant or a JMB, I've had both. I prefer the JMB, just for the look and quality.

i had K/N drop in ,,,i had a K/N intake ,and i had A Volant ,,,now i have one of justins,,there is no difference in HP at all ,,,just depends on what you like looking at when you open the hood:)

I bought Ironheads Volant, I like it, its louder in the cab for sure and I like the idea the hood is functioning for this CAI. As far as power, you probably wont see much.....maybe in the top end.

Our hood scoop is designed to allow for hot air to escape.

Yeah...from what I have researched about the volant, It actually increases the temps under the hood due to blocking the vent in the hood...:dontknow:

TN does your truck have 2 catch cans 1 black and 1 red...what is the purpose for this..

Yes it does.......I have more blowby than most due to racing rings....the duel cans just releave more pressure........the reason I have a red one is I bought them used..........I would trade the red for a black if anyone was interested or I will paint it eventially..

The Volant has it's pros and cons...The pro is the sound it makes, you can hear the intake sucking in from the hood scoop, it really adds to the muscle truck feel. The ambient temp under the hood does increase by a couple of degrees and I hate the way it looks with the hood up...It looks like a vacuum cleaner attachment and it blocks the view of my beautiful Viper engine. I have a stage II pcm from DC and 170 degree stat now, so the ambient temp is not an issue anymore. My mpg improved, but very little maybe 1 MPG on the highway. I'm not sure if I really noticed any performance gains from the Volant, especially after upgrading to stage II and really seeing what a performance upgrade can do.

WILDMAN

I have had my Volant on now for 3 years. I really don't think it gave me any more power but it sure sounds better. I like mine and plan to keep it.

I have the Volant, and I added a second scoop right behind the grill and it rams air straight into the square hole in the front of the Volant box. I used an old brake cooling duct to direct the air into the box. I think it is one of the reasons I have had success in being one of the quickest NA trucks consistently on this website (currently the quickest NA @ 12.024 ET ) and still have a stock motor. Next time I get with SRTBrad I will try to get a photo posted of the modified scoop...position is sort of the same spot that Nowwhat had his intake.

Blah, Blah, Blah .................. just shift will ya :p :p :p :D    ;)

Doesn't the mopar one (which is aluminum) take up a crap load of room? I think it takes up all the space to the left including the burrito warmer area! That is why I went wiht a Volant. It uses a deep box instead of a long one.

mm i would like to see a pic of one again anyone got one ???

found one

I know it Ironhead. It just does not make any sense to me why it is so big? Yet the filter is so damn small???? Looks like the MOPAR modded the srt-4 intake for our srt-10:dontknow:

i had a Volant, till Justin had his sale:( :D   .
might be just me. but the quality of the Volant was not very good. spent 3 days smoothin & deflashin it. might be able to tell a bit of difference in 45 mph & above, but not much.

don't the Mopar CAI use the hood scoop & just sort of dumps it at the filter?????
