I stopped by MV performance today. They advised that 4-6 more hoods would be completed than thought before the MFG shuts down for Christmas.

They agreed to extend the VTCOA deal for members for the time being even though other groups are purchasing the hoods.

If you are one of the people that was told it would be after the first of the year before you would receive your hood, call them and let them know you are a VTCOA member.

No expence was spared to insure the quality of these hoods(I have the receipts to prove it), but I have to say, they delivered. This is one of the rare occasions where my expectations were exceeded. CAUTION though, if you don't like attention, this is not the hood for you.

Also Tim has been studying the Viper engine and with him being a master at building DOHC MOD motors our engines are simple. Tim advised me that he is
already up to speed on doing a fully forged motor including being connected
with the name brand parts MFGS and feels he can easily give the best price on most parts. He wants to aquire some Viper blocks and heads to have ready when a person wants an engine, they don,t have to wait and have their money tied up and their truck down for long.

We also discussed having a Dyno day for VTCOA. They have the top of the line Mustang 1750 loading Dyno, which is supposed to be the best but is waiting on some electronics specific to our trucks for tuning that is supposed to arrive in the next few months.

Is it me, or did your painter miss painting the front side of the vents on the driver's side?????

LOL, It's you, they didn't miss anything, but under the conditions it was painted, I am going to repaint it. It was 20deg and the heat and fans were out at the painters shop. He advised me to wait but I said shoot it anyway so I could make the Macon GTG. It ended up with trash in several spots and a large blemish on the underside but I can reshoot it now that I am back in Ga. I plan on reshooting the whole truck.

Here is another shot, you are seeing the reflection.

I actually had no part in that. The MFG's went further than I thought they would. That ridge creates a low pressure area that sucks air forcefully out of the vents at speed. I just wanted the vents to allow cooling while in traffic or
between runs at the strip. But when I was shown the prototype I thought it looked good also.

I just talked to Shawn with MV performance yesterday and ordered mine! I can't wait to see it when it arrives. First thing is to get it painted and then install it. Thanks to John for getting this started!

Looks good and sounds good for our members. Any word (not holding my breath) on having a hood without the vents?
I'm not sure how they press/stamp/make the hoods but would it be "easier" without the vents to make?

Cheers,
Carl

I don't know if they are going to make one with no vents at all. From what I was told(a couple weeks ago), the vents are the main reason most people are buying the hood and it would be very costly to make another mold.

I think Stinker is planning on doing one without vents.

John, who is the manufacturer of the hoods? Lisa said MV Performance is not producing them. I told Lisa I would drive up to purchase mine but that wouldn't work since they don't make them, and either way I would have to have it shipped to me.
The first 10 Hoods are still at the manufacture. We still have the freight cost on the hood either way.

The mfg Is darn near in Canada, MV is the sole distributor. I just spoke to Shane and he stated a large order was being discussed at this time and if it
goes through then you will be able to pick up a hood at MV with no shippng charge.

I know that the first run of hoods are ready to ship right now.

I think it's the best looking hood for an SRT-10 that I have ever seen.

Hey John, a package just got dropped off here.

I must say a very special to Alex, thank you honey!

My camera is at home so I can't post any pics at this time. But I will say it is very nice.

Thank you for all you did getting this done.
