According to the European motoring outlet Autoevolution, Volkswagon AG is in talks with Fiat-Chrysler for the former to acquire either or all of the latter. This comes months after Fiat-Chrysler reorganized itself with a new name (FCA) & new logo, as well as the prospect of leadership moving from Detroit to Italy. Have any of you guys in Germany heard anything about this?

Good morning from Germany !

According to Insider news the 2 main shareholders of Fiat and VW have had
several discussions about a total or partial takeover of Chrysler by VW.

Main interest is to strengthen the weak position of VW in the US.

The official side does not confirm these discussions !

We will have to wait and see

Didn't Mercedes-Benz try to the same thing? Not to mention Lee Iacocca doing all that work back in the 80's to get rid of Fiat & they come waltzing right back in. I was a tech at a Dodge, Jeep & eagle dealer back then. The service manager would not bring in anything Renault unless it was sold new! Thank God! Talk about junk.

Hope this doesn't happen. Didn't like Fiat buy Chrysler and now they are thinking of selling it off to VW? That's no bueno.

Believe me it would be the better deal for Chrysler in Europe.
In Europe fiat decided to change the badges on all Chrysler cars, making them "euro" cars.
Ex: a 300C became a lancia...
Problem is that that trick doesn't appeal to the Lancia lovers nor did it appeal to the Chrysler lovers. Then Fiat can't understand why sales are going down....
