Just wondering how everyone warms up and cools down thier truck. I warm it up for around 4-5 minutes or untill the engine oil temp. comes up to almost 160deg. Depending on how far I drive, and how hard I drive it :D I warm it down from 3-5 minutes.

Just wondering if this is too long or if it's ok. I'm not one to just jump in the truck, start it up from a cold start, immediately put it in gear, haul ass to work and just park it and shut it off.

Thanks guys, oh and Happy Fathers day!

I let mine idle for 2-3 min, then take it easy for 5 min until the trans and drivetrain warm up...then drive it!

I start mine, and it idles for 1-2 minutes in the morning... then I drive slowly out my neighboorhood (about 15-20mph) to the main road which is about 1 mile or so.. by the time I reach the main road the engine temp are approaching 170ish, and the trans is 150-160range.. but I dont really get onto it until about another mile or so...

Warm downs... usually I will let it idle for 2 minutes or so... then give it a little throttle and shut her down.. making sure that I have good lubrication for the next startup.

a cool down dont make since to me... youre truck should be at the same temp at a idle or when youre driving. at least mine is at normal driving,,,,my temp only goes up about 5 to 8 degrease when I am driving hard anyway

I do the cool down to make sure the bearings in the paxton (since its spinning at around 30-40k rpm) are well oiled... I just do it out of habit from dealing with high performance engines... I figure and extra minute or two in geting to my destination is not going to make or break me.
