How long is the stearing wheel under warranty? Mine is coming apart...

#2 How hard is it to change on my own? I have taken the whole dash out of many 04/05 trucks, anything special about ours?

steering wheel is covered for 3yr/36 for defects. normal wear and tear is not covered under warranty. not very hard to take off. need a steering wheel puller

I have 13,000 miles on it and the top piece has all this black crap coming off it, and it looks like hammered shit...

They only want 240$ for the wheel so I guess I will just do it myself...

They said that dc won't cover it, if I have a problem with that then they will take pictures and send it in but that they know it wont be covered.

I will go get some pictures of it here in sec...

Have them take pictures... dc will cover it. i replace steering wheels all the time.

Just called my dealer and told him to look at my steering wheel (truck is there for roe SC install)...I told him about this thread and others....new steering wheel on the way...covered by warranty..:)

Ok I quickly ran to the dealer and had them snap some pictures, they said they will get back with me by the end of the day, but that he thinks there is no way thats covered. He said they tried to cover another wheel and it didn't get through...

Here are some pictures, it's not a few marks; it is coming apart completely...

Yours looks a lot worse than mine....dont see why they wouldnt cover it...my dealer said no problem...:dontknow:
It's not even the look that I am worried about, it's the black crap that gets all over you when you have a white shirt on...

no way that shouldnt be covered its worse than mine by a long shot. ive got to get mine replaced before it gets that bad. id hit another dealer, sounds like the service manager is a ass. hell i called mine yesterday and asked him how mod friendly the service dept was and if they could replace a tranny without looking under the hood. he told me to give him a day or so and he would get it taken care of but i found out the tv cable was out of adjustment. i think its all in how customer oriented they are. i bought my truck through the fleet sales manager and he's always been more than helpful. it helps he's a drag racer too. but ive had chevy dealers when i was running duramax's that turned a blind eye to mods that normally would have voided the warranty

DENIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They claim that's normal wear and tear.

They want 540$ to replace it. Looks like I will be busy this weekend, I have never had a warranty claim work. Warranty must be spanish for scam... I just can't figure this out??? I mean how are yall getting stuff done NO QUESTIONS ASKED????

w/e.... whats another 240$, on top of the 1200$ to fix my transmition, and o yea the 210$ for the new amp that HAD A ACTIVE TSB OUT ON IT??? oops forgot the clutch they refused to fix to; They think they can take advantage of me because I am a passive "young punk kid", and eidentlt there right! ok I am done with my little rant back to a solution....

I am not going to get anywhere with them, it's not worth the time... Can anyone just e-mail me the part of the service manual that has the break down for the stearing wheel? As soon as I know I can do it I will just order the wheel and do it myself...

Go to a different dealer. there should be no reason why they cant replace that steering wheel... here try going this route call chrysler customer assistance 1-800-992-1997 and complain. they will get involved and help you with this issue. tell them you know of several people who have had this issue with the steering wheels and they were replaced with no questions asked

PM STINGRAY,i bet he can help!

Dodge & GM - VIN & service information

There are three dealers around here Clear Lake Dodge, Allen Samuals, and Gulf Gate. Clear Lake is the one that f'd my tranny, Allen is the one I am dealing with, Gulf gate is a hour drive... Which means I would have to take a day off to go deal with it, is that really going to take care of it? The last time I call that number and got somone involved I was called a "punk little kid" that needs to get my "rich parents" to by me a new transmition because 2200$ isn't alot of money to someone who owns a viper truck.

...I will put all that aside and call them again, I guess I like the taste of rejection>>>

*edit I will have to call in the am, the are closed right now....
