I am looking to buy an extended warranty for my truck. I am not sure whether or not its worth buying a bumper to bumper or just go with the powertrain and save money. I am also debating on whether to buy a chrysler factory or a third party. I assume I would be better with the extended factory. Also does anyone have any connections with dealers or know of any dealers that offer these warrantys a a good price. I was quoted 1360 for a two year powertrain. I would like to get atleast 2 years but i prefer longer. Also when I purchased the truck it had an exhaust and short throw, also i just put an intake on the truck. Am I better off taking those parts off putting it to stock and getting a warranty or will the dealer not care about them and could they warranty the truck with these parts on it.

Only purchase a Chrysler Extended Service Contract. You will only get F***ed by a 3rd party... you can pm me with your vin and mileage and I can shoot you over a price for a chrysler extended contract

Yea thats what I am going to do, Im gonna stick with the chrysler contract. What do you think full bumper to bumper or just stick with powertrain. Also will the intake and exhaust impact the warranty.

just depends on the coverage you want. Powertrain are the most expensive to repair on these vehicles.

I just dont see why I would need the bumper to bumper coverage. I dont mind replacing little things as they go, i just dont have the funds to be replacing a trans. What does the powertrain cover?

include your aftermarket part in the contract none of those should effect anything other than improving effencincey ( damn I can't spell) but they could use the short throw against you if the tranny fails depens on how "tight" you are with the dealership/salesman

Sounds good I will do that. I am still not sure if I should bite the bullet and buy bumper to bumper or save the money and do just powertrain and spend it on some more stuff for the truck. Any opinions?

Chrysler is allowing SRT rides to sign up for their UNLIMITED, UNLIMITED (milage and time) 5000+ Max Life Warranty... Covers everything except Wearout Parts (Pads Wipers, Etc.) cost is around $4K and they will finance for 3yrs. :)

Where did you find this info? SRT's have always been excluded from the lifetime plans and I can't find anything that says different. Also only Model years 06 and up are eligible for the lifetime plans. Please let me know, thanks

When I bought my truck, I also purchased the Chrysler 7/70 bumper to bumper plan. It was pricey at $3.2K but I figured one or two major repairs would offset this cost. I'd go with Chrysler's plans -- I don't have much faith or confidence with the 3rd party outfits.

If i purchase just powertrain what is not covered. I understand electronics such as radio wont be covered but the parts that will break the bank should all be on there right. Is there anything that a powertrain wont cover that is a major component.

yeah... all A/C components, cooling components, power steering components, fuel systems components... the only things that are going to be covered is engine, transmission and differential
