People are getting desperate for money these days. Just the other day in this little town where crime is very minimal, someone crawled under a public transportation bus and cut the catalytic converters right out from under it. The funny part was hearing that bus drive all over town the next day sounding like a top fuel dragster. Anyway, as people get more desperate, our trucks look better and better to criminals.
 
Something else to look out for is missing manhole covers. People are stealing them and trying to sell them to metal re-claimers. Dropping one of our wheels into an open manhole could wreak havoc on your vehicle. Some towns are having to spot weld the covers into place to keep them from walking.

Scrap metal is outrageous right now. Big converters like the one they stole from the bus are going for about 200 each. Smaller ones are 50 or 60 bucks. It's all about the guts. The bigger the better.
 
I think they would be dissapointed when they get under most of our trucks. :D
 
Not just converters. Crackheads are stealing anything right now. And they know our SRT-10's usually have nice stuff on the inside.
 
Since it was a bus the engine was most likely diesel so the cat on that was not worth as much as say a nissan maxima which usually has a large foreign worth $240 each today in Nashville. The better cats to pick would be one off a mercedes which would have an exotic worth $350 each . They are all priced different. I can tell you the prices of all of them if needed.
This is what I do everyday.
 
They better not touch my truck, they will be in for a nice surprise. I have to keep an eye on my truck at work because someone stole a gas can out of a guys truck in the parking lot last month!!! If they will do that, why not syphon the liquid gold in our large tanks!!!:ahhhhh: :ahhhhh:
 
volvo cats are worth more than the mercedes last i checked :D. and no, i do NOT steal them, i get them 100% legally..... seriously

That's funny. I'm from Jersey too. Born in Brooklyn . grew up in old bridge township. spent most of my time at raceway park. You work in scrap metal?
Moveing to GA.? Stop by if your ever in Nashville.
 
i scrap in somerville 3 times a week usually, kliens to be exact, my engine builder is in old bridge, and i drift at raceway park on their new road course first wed every month :D :D :D. i live 30 minutes from it. i go to Ufc fights and concerts in sayerville all the time also.


and i am moving to valdosta where my ex isto try and work things out. long story it is here somewhere in the forums lol


btw, my last girlfriend lived in ky burkesville i believe. i like my southern women :D
 
please send them over to my house to remove mine.

Actually, this is a great excuse for me to go catless on the new truck right? Good excuse to the fiance, right :dontknow:
