There is a great article in the June 09 Hot Rod Magazine on Water/Meth applications.

The article says everything that Sean Roe has been saying since mid-2006 when he built the Roe TMTS and used water/meth to control detonation under boost.

Again Sean is way ahead of his time...proud to be his prototype street application!

There are some new more sophisticated systems that have added bells and whistles mentioned in the article...next time I speak with Sean I will want to ask him about (progressive input, blowoff valve activation, and a water/meth fluid level sensor)...

See pages 110-114 in the June Hot Rod Mag.

Thanks for the tip Roy......FYI if you have the meth in your windshield cleaner bottle then you already have a fluid level sensor..;)

How come I didn't think of that???

We need a fountain of youth here in Wadsworth!

And running it with the VEC, it is progressive...

Are you sure Dave...my pump seems to just be on or off.

:dontknow:

My resv has the needed mounts for a sensor but seems someone on the assembly line forgot to add a sensor to mine....

Yes. Email me you VEC program and I can tell you what it is doing or how it is ramping up. The green light just tells you that it is functioning, but not at what cycle/output.

I believe Sean sets it up to run off of both Boost/vacuum and RPM. I would have to go back and look at it. I am on a new computer now and don't have the VEC software installed on this one. (based on percent of duty cycle(100%))

When you press that black primer button, it should come out at 100%.

However, when you are relatively low in the RPMs, say 3500rpm, it may be at 30% when you are not boosting hard. The light may still be solid green but only showing that it is running. Light is ON/OFF indication only.

New info for me! Thanks...

Low boost? I never go beyond low boost...too old to push hard on the go pedal...just pretend to be quick and let them wonder...

Let me open the VEC program and give a little detail.

If sean made your VEC program, I am sure you are progressive/proportional.

Per RPM
1000 RPM - 1%
1500 - 5%
2000 - 13%
2500 - 18%
3000 - 24%
3500 - 28%
4000 - 33%
4500 - 33%
5000 - 49%
5500 - 73%
6000 - 92%
6500 - 100%

So you can see the meth motor isn't at full cycle until 6500 RPM.

Now based on LOAD
-1.8 load (vacuum) - 00%
+0.3 - 13%
1.5 - 30%
2.7 - 45%
3.8 - 59%
5.0 - 75%
6.0 - 90%
7.2 - 100%
8.4 - 100%
9.6 - 100%
10.7 - 100%
11.8 - 100%
12.9 - 100%
14.1 - 100%

I had to extrapolate (with Sean's guidance) the program after I went over 5.6 psi. I am sure yours is close to the same.

With the VEC program you can also 'scale' the duty cycle to account for bigger/smaller meth motor and/or injector. Just like Fuel injectors with the VEC.

Obviously, I have had many conversations/emails with Sean on his program. Really not a difficult program to utilize once you understand what it does. However, you can get yourself in a world of hurt fast just by a little buffoonery on one perimeter. Need to exercise caution especially when on the dyno with various NOS shots! ;'>

The 1962 Turbocharged Corvair used water/meth injection to control detonation.

I don't think the monitoring/metering system was quite as accurate as what we have today though...;)

Amazing! A Corvair with water/meth...I never knew or would have guessed!
