Water on the belts= NO STEERING?

Yep, it's normal for these trucks... The new belt will help, but won't completely eliminate the problem. Especially in FL downpours. When it was wet, I knew it would squeal... so I just took an extra 30 seconds after start-up to let the belt dry itself. Maybe give the throttle a few short blips after that before you put it in gear and start moving.

Mine still does it even after a new belt. Have not tried the Gatorback belt, should have I guess.

You ought to drive about a mile and make 4 90* turns from a stop with no belt....:argh: .....I thought my steering wheel was going to break,,it was cracking and popping from the strain..or maybe that was me. .LOL....I had to about climb up on the steering wheel to turn it..

Bringing this back from the dead because it's been raining here in Rochester
quite a bit and I can't stand the sound of it, as well as having to double
hand that steering wheel when it does happen.. So the conclusion is to
get a Goodyear Gatorback belt? What's the Part number?:D

Thanks,

Andrew
Gator back # is 4070685....I have it but still haven't put it on...:D

I haven't had to drive mine in the rain yet:D If I ever have to I hope I don't loose power steering:argh:
