I was watching TV this evening....FOX News I think.... When an ad appeared which described the genocide taking place in Darfur..... The narrator concluded her diatribe by stating that President Bush isn't doing a damned thing to stop this carnage and that (as a result) he is delinquent in his duties as President......

Well, it's true that Darfur is a horrible situation....... So is the situation in the middle east, likewise all over Africa and as a matter of fact all over the world.

But President Bush isn't at the core of what's wrong....Far from it..... Sure George Bush isn't the President that everyone thought he would be... It's my opinion that he's simply as much a lying politician as Bill Clinton and all the bloody rest of them. But the blame is not his.....

The true blame lies with the so-called "religion of peace"....Islam....

Islam is the religion which offers 72 virgins to those who die in the service of Allah....(What kinda dip-shit male fantasy is that?)..... It is the religion whose Holy Koran states plainly that the infidels must either convert to Islam or be killed....

For this reason we have a worldwide plague of filthy, cave dwelling cretins who have nothing better to do than to dedicate their otherwise meaningless lives to one bloody and evil cause.... Killing or converting the infidels to Islam..... After all, there's some major pussy to be gotten here....

They shout Allah Akbhar (or however you spell it) "God is Great" while they brutally and rabidly saw off the heads of innocent people whose only crime was that Islam was not for them......

They treat women like human garbage..... Why doesn't that piss off the liberals and womens groups....? I don't get it....

Christians, Jews, Buddhists....you name it......They are all viciously and happily slaughtered at the hands of these eveil loathesome bastards. And what do we get from conservative Islam........ Not a damn word.... Well maybe some token blathering but absloutely no action...

It is about damn time that Islam began policing itself..... Let Islam be held responsible for Islam..... Not George Bush or the USA by any means....

Islam doesn't police itself because it is merely allowing it's own radical members to do Islam's real and true bidding. Islam is a vicious and evil religion based on the ramblings of a raving frickin' maniac.

If these bastards want a Holy War, then I say by God let's have it. Our God against your God. Allah is not God.... Allah is a frikkin' rock somewhere in the Middle East.

Level Mecca and Medina and bulldoze the Dome of Rock.... Drive Islam into the sea along with all it's bloodthirsty adherants....... These big mouthed cowards will be crawling along the ground and kissing the hands of those who vanquished them...... just like they did in Afghanistan...

The Evil IS ISLAM................... These vicious cretins camped at the gates of Vienna for over 200 years....... The only thing they understand is genocide.... I say we oblige them before they slash all of our throats while we sleep in our beds.....

I absolutely despise Islam................... I'm sick to death of hearing about it and them........

Sorry..............

I'm just glad that all of Islam is not like those you speak of. I have met my fair share and enjoyed my conversations with them.

But I agree. Those that want to die in the name of Islam need to be helped along there way before they hurt anyone else

may not be the most politically correct post I've ever made, but after my experiences in the military. I have learned that our government cannot fix the radical acts of others. And to blame Rep or Dem for not doing enough or too much is just insane.

I agree with D.

By the way, If you are a follower of Islam, I'd very much welcome your debate or opinion on this subject.......... I say this in all honesty and openness...........

Please tell me why if these terrorists are nothing but a few radicals who represent only a tiny miniority of Islam, why hasn't the huge majority of you peace loving, right minded Muslims put a collar on these blood lusting death freaks who are destroying your good name.......?

What is Islam doing to stop this wholesale slaughter of innocent people......?

I'll tell what they're doing........................DICK......!!!

If the US does nothing but envoke sanctions and provide food, we're called "uncaring assholes".

If the US goes in and kicks ass, we're criticized for being "world police".

Condeming the religion is not correct. The factions that ferment hate and espouse terrorism are the radical fringe...but Islam is a huge religion...their fringe is a terrifyingly large number of people. The condemnation of Moslems only contributes to the problem. Like all religions, radical fundamentalists that have no room for tolerance of others, greatly magnify the problems.

Sorry, to be one who disagrees, but the record needs to be clear...its not religion, its (radical) people that make life difficult...we have learned to tolerate one another on this forum...it is a micro example of what people can do to reach accord. We need a macro solution to the radical/terrorist problem the world currently faces...it will not be easy, and it will not be fast.

While I have huge problems with the United Nations...they do have one great strategy: Educate the Girls...

Educated girls begets educated mothers, who in turn teach and educate their children, boys or girls...

There is no way we will ever be able to kill all of the terrorists...each life we take probably generates three or four more future terrorists...imagine if your older brother was killed by an "enemy nation, religion, political party, you add the noun", you and your siblings and your cousins will all try to become the one to even the score....

Maybe professors shouldn't be allowed on these forums...I fear we don't communicate well with an audience that is not focused on learning the specific topic being addressed...but then again, learning is what this forum is about.

I could be wrong, I have been told by all of my wives that I am often wrong.

Sorry Roy, I have to disagree. The reason the Majority does not stand up to stop the extremest is that they support them. Their religion is first and foremost in their lifes. And as Tim stated, you convert them or kill them. Sure it's only a small fringe that commits the vile acts we read about daily, but they are supported by the majority.

Can you name one other religion that condones and actually supports the killing of others?

Since the typing of words on a screen cannot convey emotions, I just need to add that I disagree with you, but I'm not mad or angry.

Take care Roy.

Nearly every religion at one time or another to include Christianity...

How many Moslems have any of you spoken to that support the terrorists? Maybe a better question would be how many of us have sought out someone who subscribes to Islam? Solutions come from understanding.

I did not blame the villagers of South Viet Nam for harboring the VC...they were simply trying to survive...it was frustrating when viewing it from my perspective, but when I learned to walk in their shoes, the perspective changed...much the same as when I realized that those who fled the war by going to Canada, were doing me a favor...I only wanted to lead those who were willing to do what needed to be done.

Tolerance for the other side of the issue is critical to peace...

I love you guys, but more, I love this country that allows and encourages the open exchange of ideas. What a fortunate quirk of fate that we are here, not Darfur, Bagdad, or a multitude of other places where life is routinely miserable.

ive read the parts of the koran that states kill the infidels, i dont think most would admit that they support the extremist even if they did, certianly not in this country. from what we've seen on the news they are cowards. its sickening. but its been happening since the beginning of time.

Cathlolics have killed untold masses...100s of thousands of non believers or those who fail to convert....Muslims now are doing the same...Jews would if they could get a running start....same story different day....My religion is better thatn yours....blah blah....my dad can beat up your dad....blah blah...

1 planet with limited resources and an every increasing population means 1 thing....people will always pick a team and try to kill the other....

I pick the VTCoA as my team....we are bad mothers....now let's go kill the Ford guys......:D

Yeah!!!!! What he said!!!!!

I'm still mad about that "Here Hemi, Hemi, Hemi...." sticker on that Lightening!

So true Tim. The sad think that amazes me is we do not hear anything from their silent minority, or majority. That is a problem, voice up and support them or voice up and condem. The silence is what allows the few to continue their extremism.

Believe it or not, I am with Prof on this one. The Bible is not short on violence or the meting out of punishment to those that are "non-believers". In my opinion, they are almost the same religions. The similarites far outweigh the differences. I think all religion is bullshit. We still have radical Christians running around blowing up abortion clinics from time to time. You don't see the mainstream groups out bashing them either. How can anyone ever believe that their "God" wants them to kill another person on their behalf. If indeed there is a God, don't you think He or She would want everyone on this rock to put aside their differences? More people have been killed on this planet in the name of a god than for any other reason.

Can't argue that either....

I guess the thought I was having based on Tims post was, we can't do anything about the past. We can't change the crusades, we can't change hitler, etc. The only thing we can really work on is the present and what is happening at this very point in time. We can't change yesterday, but we might be able to change tomarrow. Its within us (ALL) to change our future. Wether its the Arian Nation, the KKK, the Crips, Islamic Extremists, IRA, it doesn't matter. But if I know my neighbor is going to blow up the local flea market because the people who shop there are poor and thats his beef. So what I'm saying (not speaking for Tim) its our respnsibility to do something. Likewise with the Islamic extremist, there are those that know there plans and if they wanted to, actions could be taken to stop it.

We live in today.

And quite frankly that is the biggest problem we have. We spend so much time draging up the past that we never have time to correct today. Look at politics in general. They spend all there time digging up events that happened 30 years ago. So the elections aren't about what there going to do today but defending actions of the past. I can't change what my forefathers did and I sure as hell can't change what I did in high school. But I can sure as hell change what I'm going to do.

As stated earlier. I wish more people could have an open conversation like we can have here. Its refreshing to be able to have an opionion.

Jeff

Good point, Jeff.

Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner. Think he'd be elected president today?
Heh heh....not likely.

I agree with you, but, as the saying goes, "Those who ignore the past are doomed to repeat it" or something like that..
Also, some people have nothing better to do than bitch about the way things are, or have been. If more people would take a stand and DO something, some problems may be resolved. Please keep in mind that while I support efforts to change the future, I am personally much too busy with today...lol
