Wear & Tear on steering wheel...

There is some ugly wear & tear on my steering wheel from the 10:00 position to the 2:00 position. I guess from driving with one hand. Truck has 25,000 miles on it and I have put 13000 on it myself. It wasn't there when I bought it. I thought someone posted one time that it was covered under warranty. Is that correct?

My dealer replaced mine under warranty...same problem you described.....have about 10,000 miles on the new one and I am starting to see little pieces coming loose...

Some people have been able to get them replaced, but not many. They usually call it "normal wear". Mine's hit too.

Mine is toast as well. When I asked the dealer they said it was not a warranty deal. Especially since I was not the original owner of the truck.

Thanks Tim...Looks like they do more than steering wheels..I was thinking of doing my console..

This guys work is awesome......

He charged me about $150 for a job that was $450-500 from the custom shops.....

My wheel was better than the new one.... It's not finished with that slick clear plastic coating that stock wheels have.... Just beautiful lnew leather with the baseball stiching.... Fkn awesome work....

Do the 05's or 06's have stereo controls on the steering wheel??
I have an 04 and am used to having the controls. Can this be done aftermarket? Oops, I also have an aftermarket receiver

What I was thinking is if 05' or 06's wheels are compatible and have controls I would get one wrapped as I have the same wear. If I do it I would rather upgrade if possible

My 06 has the controls..not sure if different yrs are compatible due to the air bags & seatbelts....the 06's air bags & belts are different from the 04 & 05s...

They all have the controls on the wheel.

When I had my aftermarket stereo put in, I could have had the controls activated for an additional $180 for a control unit. Is that what you are asking about??

The controls are on the back side of the steering wheel, but you knew that, right??

It has them bro...as stated... they are behind the wheel. You would have to figure out if they are hooked up, if your running an aftermarket radio... there is an adapter to utilize them.

Holy shiznit I feel like a stooge. They are there but dont work on the aftermarket stereo. Good news is the truck is even cooler than it was 5 minutes ago and I know that I can get it hooked up the way I want now.
Also can have the wheel wrapped without buying a new one!!
