Good thread Annu ----
I say if you doubt it makes a diffrence , TRY IT . Take off your spare too at the same time . I swear it has to be faster . I like to spin the tires on my launches to get to the peak horsepower on the powerband . This made it perfect ! I say if you can get to your peak hp on your rpm without burning out to much , your 60' times are going to be lower , and in turn your 1/4 mile times will be lower unless there is some huge drag happening that i cant feel . I say its faster to all you nay sayers out there ... TRY IT ! take off the tonneau , then make up your mind !

ummmm....no.....

spinnig your tires kills your 60'.....period...
to get into your power band faster...you need to reduce rotational mass...not spin the tires....

I have tried every combo....cover, spare...one....both....
on a RC there is over 3000lbs on the front axle and less than 2000 over the back....

Weight transfer is the key...

Hey Andy Nowhat knows what he is talking about. He is the Guy that ran the recording breaking run 10.7. But let me ask you a question nowhat. The tonneau cover and the wing does add Downforce which will Probably slow down the truck as it is moving down the road. I don't know Let me know what you think Nowhat.

Yeah, so I'm not Nowwhat, but here's what I understand.

The wing and tonneau should both reduce drag, improving speed/efficiency. As for downforce, there should be some, but not a lot.

...and yes, Mike. I bought the VIS Racing hood. Last I spoke with them, they're going to replace it when the receive more of them.

at the speed we trap at....the wing is not going to be a huge factor....now getting solid covers for the front grills and covers for the fog lights...ie a smooth front facia....(like the l guys do)....that would help....

Was the first hood jacked up....?....what kind of weight savings between the 2...?

Now why do you go and do this Mike? :dontknow:

Once again I have to go and prove that you are wrong. Damn.

Dodge advertised the weight distribution of the RC as 55/45. Well I go in a pissing match with a gentleman over this and went and had my truck weighted. With me it the weight distribution was 56/44. Close enough to the advertized claim that I wasn't going to argue the point.

I tried to find the weight slip and couldn't find it. It was in the neighborhood of 5300 with my fat ass in the truck.

That works out to 2968/2332, front/rear.

If I find the exact numbers I will post them later.

scroll down...perhaps your fury butt had the seat moved all the way back and that shifted the weight....

Okay, what the hell am I looking at?:dontknow: It's a scale slip. I don't know what it's from.

Seat all the way back?:dontknow: You have seen me. Hell, with the seat all the way back my feet wouldn't touch the steering wheel. ;) :D

that is the scale slip from Big nana's RC....

That comes out to 65/35. Way off from what I weighted and what was advertised.

Guess I will have to weigh mine again sometime.

I need to take off now and return all that shampoo I just bought.;) :D :p
