I had this plan with my old hemi truck, and wanted to see how much i could drop the actual weight for quarter times and racing in general. Just want to see how light i can get our truck while maintaining the same look as it is now.

Cool, alright man. Good luck and have fun! :D

WHY IN THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO GUT OR TAKE SEATS AND SPOILERS OFF THE TRUCK.
IF YOU WANT TO GO FASTER SPEND SOME MONEY AND INSTALL SOME AFTERMARKET PARTS.
BY THE TIME YOU WASTE YOUR TIME ON HOODS AND TEARING EVERYTHING OUT IT WILL COST THAT MUCH JUST TO RE INSTALL WHAT YOU TORE OUT.:dontknow: :dontknow:

It's the combination of a little more HP and a few less lbs that makes for cost effective ET reduction.

He's just a potential modaholic. Indulge him.

Modaholic reporting for duty, i figure if i lighten what i can while the truck is stock and make it look stock then add hp upgrades like a supercharger ect. then it will be a sleeper with a supercharger thats lighter than the average supercharged viper truck. Yes im addicted to mods i cant help it, i like to burn my money away on trucks where else am i gonna spend it my girlfriend? :D

-no door handles
-no hitch
-Replace rear bumper with a rollpan
-1/8th tank of gas
-remove any and all trash in your truck
-lighter wheels/tires

-only run 6qts of oil
-go on a diet
-no center console
-Remove overload leafs
-lighter seats
-plexiglass windows
-almuinum driveshaft
-remove antenna
-carbon fiber hood
If anyone is serious enough to do all this, then they might as well remove the whole box too. That must be worth atleast a few hundred lbs.

Why not simply operate your truck by remote control.........

It's a big nasty fkn truck.............. Taking shit off misses the whole damn point.....

Plus, launching it is gonna be even more difficult with less weight......

D

Is it possible to replace the bed with an aluminum sheet? Lol. I'm not going to haul anything heavy. Oh and are there any fiberglass parts available for the truck? Or carbon fiber? Besides the hood? The hood is light anyways.

Oh and... RAISE THIS THREAD!!! FROM THE DEAD!!! :D

Old threads never die..they.......I was just in the garage lookin at my truck thinking about weight savings.....got Stinker's fiberglass hood coming and expect to loose about 50LBs from that....I might entertain changing the fenders to fiberglass....an alum bed might shave several hundred pounds..:dontknow:

Thats what I was thinking... I would love to get my truck around 4500pds.... People around here drive 350 s-10's and L's and stuff. I just wanna compete, ya know? Taking out all the wheel liners might save 50pds... Has anyone taken off the overload springs on the leafs?

Its a true locker though right? Do you get to keep your ABS? I'm kinda partial to not chirping my tires on low speed turns :p.

Hey Roy and Stinker, If we are gonna replace the entire differential why not go to a 9" Ford rear and save ANOTHER 100 lbs or so and have the easy gear changes with the chunk type rear and it would be just a strong?

Isn't the Ford 9" a Limited Slip as well?
