well..its a sad day....i pretty much just got told i'm screwd on my warrenty for my truck..and they are blaming it on the Roe Throttle body..." i'm not saying Roe is at fault.. it's mostly my fault i guess" they called me and told me that something had came loose in the motor..."A Screw or some thing" it tore up the top of a piston and cyl Wall and scared it bad enuff that.. i'm going to need a new long block.. a set of pistons an some more stuff..alot of other things are messed up to..and thats all i know right now at this point...so yeah it's a sad day i guess :( ......so i just talked to them again they want 21K to put a new motor in....can anyone help me out here shoot me someplaces to go to?? looks like i'm end up building they motor the way i want it but anyway.... yeah thats the news

So very sorry to hear this..... :(

You can get a much better price than that rebuilding yourself... Got that route especially if warranty is gone. Again.... Sorry bro...

Underground Racing in N.C., where Stinker is.....
They built the engine for the "SuperTank" for Mike.

Quick

You could do a lot of mods and forge the bottom end for that...and you say it was the Roe TB?...did a screw come loose or what?.:dontknow:

no way id let a dealershit build that engine. not for that amt anyway. hell taliban dan in georgia would do you a good job or like they said underground in NC. hell you could almost put twins on for a few more coins.

I like the "twins" in your sig pic!:p

yeah i guess the intake suckd a screw out of the throttlebody? i won't really know anything until i drag it home tomorrow.... i just hate paying for the truck when i can't even drive it... but like i was telling my ol lady... at least i have a good excuse to build the motor now lol

21 grand can get you a bad ass long block shoot...give justin a call he can get ot done.........actually now that i think about it i might have a hook on an 04 lb complete with 2200 miles out a car my dad just totalled it let me find out what ins says it was arear impact motor and tranny ar eperfect

that is what im checking into as i type this.....im pretty sure me an my uncle can rebuild the motor he built drag racing motors for years..he mentioned resleveing the block....i guess i wont know for sure untill..i get to look at the block itself......does anybody else know if its true you can resleve the motor?

Another resource is PBJ in St. Louis...and there is always Arrow in Michigan.

you can bore it about .10 over , after that it needs resleaving:D

none taken!... i'm making phone calls as i type lol i honestly think i'm going to have it bored and resleved if possiable...but i'mpretty much clueless about this motor.. i don't even know if you can bore it then have it resleeved? o well i guess it's time to learn..

one of the popular deals is stroking it to a 522, or using oversized sleaves and goin 540:D

hmm 522? that sounds nice... where do you buy the sleeves at? cause like i said i'm going to build it up so i might as well get some good HP numbers out of it....so if i were to stroke it to a 522..what all would i need? sleeves new pistons... might as well get a list going lol..so i can start ordwering stuff

To get a 540 you need to have sleves built. This can be done through Exotic engine development, talk to Kevin Singleton at EED, who is one of our vendors here.

Just "BIG" sleving the motor the cost is over 4K, this does not include pistions or a finish hone.

The 522 stroker is done by offset grinding the crank journals.
The longer stroke does not really equate into much more power on the Viper motors.

The bigger bore does much more as it unshrouds the intake valve, and makes more power. The stock stroke motor is also easier on parts than a longer stroke motor.

The engine for Mikes truck was not done at Underground.
Mikes engine was done at EED, Exotic Engine Development.

if you cant afford to rebuild for that kind of $$$.Try E-bay.There were a few motors in there.Check it out.
