Was wondering what kinda power I can expect on a stock QC with a paxton and no cats tuned with sct. Any info?

Didn't roe have a low boost pulley that made it safe to run stock internals?? I always wanted to know this as well.

Mines a Paxton setup. They only make 1 pulley for it. It's an 8lb setup which is more than the roe I think.

Whats a safe number for stock internals. Would a cam be pushing it. I'd rather rebuild cause im ready rather than have to buy a new one cause theres a rod sticking out the side.

From what I read anything over 550hp is a crap shoot. You are gambling as soon as you start making changes. I don't have a lot of experience with engine mods but it appears our viper engines are very finicky.

The other thing is, just because some people truck runs good with power adders on stock internals, doesn't mean yours will. If you are going to do any type of FI I think most people would recommend a build.

Sucks :(

put the supercharger on, let it make what it makes, make sure the tune is nice and rich and very safe, you should be in the mid 5's

as long as ya do that, you should be fine, its when you go looking for the power you start having probs.
as far as cam, you would be ok, but you would need to change the valve springs and the pushrods

Unless you build the internals water/meth doesn't help. It would help with a built engine as it allows you to play with the timing more and make more power before detonation issues. Stock internals, stay under 600hp. Mine lasted a little over 20k miles at 600 through all cats and a magnaflow. I added headers, catless mids, made the tune more aggressive and got over 650hp for about 5k miles before mine went boom. If you plan to get the most out of the Paxton build the engine now if you can afford it. If you're perfectly happy under 600hp run a safe tune and be happy.

What kinda power can the crank handle. Internals meaning, pistons, rings, and rods?

Crank can take up to 850 easily.

I had stock internals for about 18k miles, with a 5.6 lb Roe...it pumped about 630 rwhp. It went south, at that point...now running a 10 lb Roe setup with about 685 rwhp...on forged everything...Joe is right about the water/meth...I am a total supporter of the system...but it is just to cool the intake charge...it, in of itself, does not add power...it just allows more freedom in timing without risking detonation.

Get a well know Viper tuner in your corner...not just a local yokel...there are only five or six really good Viper tuners.
