What would be the best rear end gear ratio for a QC....Racing ,,Towing ,All around gear choice???????
Has anyone changed theirs ?????

the 4.10 gear would be best if you are going to be on the highway alot, it will drop the rpms down while cruising.
if not the 4.56 that they come with are probably the way to go.
4.88 would be fun, but you prolly going to be at 3000rpm doing 70mph

I wish someone would figure out how to make a Gearvenders work with our trucks ECM.
I have one in my hot rod Lincoln and they are great and would be perfect for the SRT-10's.

.

I put 3.73 gears in my truck. I gained about 2 to 2.5 mpg on the hiway. I lost very little response. It dropped the rpms down about 500 at freeway cruising speed. I get between 16 to 17 mpg on my QC hiway mileage. Another nice benefit is it got rid of the drone I got with my magnaflow mufflers at 75 mph.

I have a set out of my 04, the 4.10's , now I will do this, I will trade ya for your 4.56.

now the traveling installer part:argh: :p

Would there be a performance gain at the track by going to a 4.10? With DR's? The milage gain is insignificant to me. I'm getting like 1,000,000 mpg right now:p .

Thanks for the congratulatory message, Tony.

It would likely m.p.h. better at the track esp. with those 2.25" lower 17" M&H Drag Radials I am running... Currently, the 4.56s are around 4.90+ with them bolted on.

Would they affect E.T.? Or only trap speed?

I don't think there is a shortage of torque to effect the e.t. much if at all, but I haven't tried it so, I don't know....On a race only vehicle you would just stay with the steeper gear as a rule.
You can also have your tuner set your shift points higher, esp. 3-4. Mine completes the 3-4 shift at 125 m.p.h. (6,110 r.p.m.)
If the engine is going to go out with a bang, it might as well be a good one...:D
