All,

As some may know i've got the truck listed in the classified section. I'm changing jobs and will have a car allowance at the new position. I work in sales so I need something that I can haul four people and four sets of clubs in comfortably. And no a QC is out of the question.

The caveat, i must have something with some juice.

I was looking at the cts-v (not a brand new one) and a tahoe.

any other recommendations that you may have had personal experience with?

I think I need to stay around 30k so that i'm not out of pocket at all.

good call...or a chrysler 300 SRT8...possibly a trailblazer SS

If you have to get something to carry clients, get an SUV or a full size car like a 300 or an Impala. I rent vehicles all the time and everything else is just too damn small. The Dodge Magnum I find has too many blind spots. The Tahoe is nice, and with the new cylinder deactivation they get pretty good mileage. The Durango is one of my favorites. Jeep Commander is OK but passengers don't care much for the stadium seating. Too hard to see out for tall people. The CTS Cadillac is alright but has a pretty small backseat.

Pontiac G8 GT is looking pretty good, and in the price range.

I agree. I looked at one when I got my truck... they're pretty sweet.

Magnum SRT-8's can be found cheap and plenty of room for people and gear.

SRT 8 jeep...I just picked one up as a DD and the ONLY downside is the 15-17mpg....but I expected that anyways :p

All I can think of is that episode of seinfeld where his childhood buddy sells jerry a van that he doesn't want.

"i'm not a van guy!"

What about a Certifed Pre-Owned 2007 300C SRT-8 with like 12k on it for around $31-32k??

That's a fun car, and definitely can carry people around in it.

Mostly everything I would reccomend has been mentioned.

Used SRT8 of any fashion would fit the bill.
New or used Tahoe
New G8 GT is about as quick as an SRT8 Charger.
If you want more gas mileage, that Ford Edge is pretty stylish and has a lot of options, but not as quick.

I wouldn't reccomend the CTS-V. Reliability issues with the old body style are WELL known.

It depends how many miles you are willing to buy a used vehicle with and if you want new. If you're trying to impress, don't mind 20,000 to 30,000 miles, and are willing to sacrifice speed, a Mercedes Benz E 350 or E 320 is a hell of a bargain. The new V6 CTS is close in price and the G8 would be great as long as you aren't going for image. A Pontiac aint gonna impress but they have power and plenty of room and it would be a new car. The Chrysler 300C's are fast without any harsh ride. There is also a used BMW 5 series. If you don't want a harsh ride, stay away from the SRT's. If you want a Mopar, the Chrysler 300C is a great choice of speed and comfort on a budget but the styling is love it or hate it. One thing is for sure, you have no shortage of choices! If I were looking for a bargain for the money and buying to haul clients and impress them, I would go with a used Mercedes E320 and try to get over the lack of speed. If you don't mind somewhat high mileage you can find an E500 for $30k.
