Alright its time, going to the track in a few weeks and with my higher stall launches are really a joke. So what wheels should I get. Going to run some MH slicks.

Sorry forgot I need a damn sig

05 QC Paxton, 2400 stall converter, M&H 12-16 slicks

I'm going to grind the calipers or just pull the rear brakes and tow it there.

You can call John Purner at CCW (complete custom wheel)...he has made at least 3 sets now for our trucks so the measurements are spot on....Vprpwr, Blake, me......

they are like $400/wheel....:( .....

Grinding the calipers is a better way to go but it takes a while so be prepared.....:D

Thanks... this is gonna be a little bit painful, around $1,500 for playing on the track.

There is a reason I have a fridge in the garage fully stocked with beer at all times... I'm sure I'll end up drinking most of it if I decide to grind the calipers down.

Don't forget the line lock from Summitt racing....and the rim screws......and.....and......and......:D

I wonder is steel wheels wouldn't be the way to go. They'd be lot's thinner and might require less grinding on the calipers...they may weight a little more than some, but they might really be the way to go...just a comment from the peanut gallery.

I am sure it would be...now find us a manufacturer who has all the correct offset info and can make a 16x11.....

Set the beer down and make yourself useful....chop chop.....:D

Seriuosly get on it

I was thinking buy an '04 Hemi truck, already has the wing delete package, buy some 17 inch drag radials, swap the motor and trans, and there ya have it,a light weight, single cab truck with better weight transfer and an automatic.

Here are a couple places you can check out. If they cannot help you, I'm sure they will be able to tell you where to go.

Hell, for that matter I'm sure Patrick will be able to help you out also. Usually rock crawlers and dune buggys have widened wheels.

The 1500 has a lighter frame. Something to think about.

I have a local company here that I get my drag slick wheels from...I acually ordered Gary a set the other day. They are 16's and fit our truck quite nicely.

Thanks

Patrick

Well, as SilverBack suggested Stockton wheel would be a good source, they can make any wheel you need. Additionally, I wonder if they couldn't make a wheel that actually clears the caliper altogether by making a ridge in it...now there's food for thought...someone would have to do a bunch of measuring, but I betcha it could be done...
