So I'll be running my truck at the 1/4mile track here in Albuquerque and the track is at 5320 feet elevation. Unfortunately, I already know that the elevation has killed my rwhp (350 uncorrected) and torque (380).

So what do you think I'll run? My friend is saying 16's, but I figured 14's would be conservative enough. Damn. It's gonna be hard to break into 12's here.

Any tips on technique with a QC (bone stock)? I figure I'll have it in tow mode of course and just hold the RPM's at ~1500. I'll post up my times after this saturday.

start a poll?

I say if your are stock a mid low 14, or maybe high 13:rock:

NHRA altitude correction for Albuquerque, knock off .943

so if you should definitely run 14s

With my Paxton setup I ran a 13.89 last year at bandimere (5600 feet). The density alt was 8500 feet or so. I'll say something in the 15s.

At Bandimere last year(5600 feet), I ran 14.8 and 14.9, with a regular cab. I had problems with traction. Because you are down low at 5300 feet, I say you will do a 14.5

yea but they are not on the truck! I just tell cops that my personalized plates just got stolen and they have never said a word about it!

What did you RUN ?

Rained all morning so I figured track was closed. Ended up doing other crap only to find out that the track times were postponed and nobody was there:mad:

Also, I'll be in DC till next saturday night so I'll have to wait 2 weeks to find out. FAWK!!!

Ok, so I finally made it out to the track...drumroll....

Best run of the day was [email protected]. 60' was 2.369

This was the first time I had ever officially drag raced and my times dropped considerably each time. My first run was weird, as I got distracted and ended up with a 1.09 reaction time. I also let off the gas too early and ran a [email protected]. Oddly, this run had my fastest 60' of the day at 2.319. My second run netted a [email protected] with my third run being [email protected].

With a little more practice I think I can run 14.7's. Keep in mind the track is over 5300 ft in elevation and my truck is bone stock. Still not too bad, but I'd like to be in the 12's. Next mod for me will be full exhaust then flash, then ???
