im telling you fellas, find a commercial grade de greaser, it will work without all that dawn scrubbing.SRTINCT said:I busted out the pressure washer for the inside of the rims. No luck. I'm going the brillo pad method on the inner rims, then rinse real good, then follow up with wheel cleaner and a nylon brush to makes sure all metal particles from the brillo pad are gone. Adding some wax after the cleaning should help for next time. Winters f'n suck.

W.D.40 cleans chain lube off real good.walbert said:Watch what chemicals you use on the rims. On my motorcycle someone said to use simple green on the swingarm where all the chain lube got slung on it. I cleaned it, and rinsed well. It etched the metal. Thats the best way I can describe. Regardless, you could see where it was. Not good.
I think with the stock rims after damage has been done, the best thing would be to sand and then get a silver or black paint and just paint it.
A neighbor did this to his import (Acura) and it turned out better than I thought it ever would.
