I currently have Flowmaster outlaws http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/outlaw.html
but i need something deeper since i put my catless mids on.

Would you pick

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/40_super.html
http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/40_race.html

Which of these three would you go with. I politefully ask if you are not a flowmaster fan, dont ask me to switch, and if you have no experience with any of these mufflers on your truck, your advice wouldnt help. But for those that have tried any of these 3 your opinions would be tremendously appreciated! Thanks

Hi Jeff,

I haven't had anything to do with Flowmasters on my SRT/10 or the SRT vehicle line but I have used them on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland before. The Super 44 were loud but droany loud, not nice. I kept them for a while because under WOT they sounded mean, any other time and they sound like shit. It made my Jeep (4.7L HO V8) sound like it was struggling to reach speed at any rpm. I ordered a set of Flowmaster mufflers, 70 series and the difference is awesome.

Still loud but no droan, a tad but that is to be expected with most performance muffler set ups. My system is a 3" too and if I had to do it again I'd go quieter, so, from your pick my choice would be easy, Super 40 although I doubt the difference in tone would be that noticeable with either......hope you like droaning is all I can say lol. I like to hear my engines, don't get me wrong, but I like to hear them without droan and the lower series (higher numerically) you can go, go for it is my opinion.

Here is a good video with the 70 vs. the 40 series on a similar Jeep to mine. www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5VBkuAGOns When I saw it I was like, yeah, the 40 series is the way to go!! But unfortunately the video doesn't capcher the droan. With a regular cab you maybe OK, in a quad cab you'd be switching in no time to something more mellow.

Cheers and best of luck,
Carl

i got a flowmaster courtesy of the previous owner, and i like the sound. sorry i cant help out with the series...

I had a magnaflow and didnt like the way it sounded. So i put in 2 40 series flowmasters.I like the way it sounds. When its at idle you can here the cam in it more with the flowmasters. The droan to me is not that bad.

I dont think i would call what i hear droan. The cab is not reverberating. Its just the sound out the pipe friggin explodes 16-1800 and from 3600-red, its not just louder it is raspy, and i hear it echo off everything! Trees buildings bridges. People that i show my problem to make make the facial expression of nails on a chalk board or seeing someone break their leg skateboarding.

None!

I wanted a good'ole 40 series installed at a muffler shop.

before they started they wanted me to sign a waiver stating that if and when i didn't like the sound i would still pay for the work. because eveyone that had it done complained............

A V10 is not good for a Chambered muffler IMHO. Go straight through with Tony's MBRP or a mangnaflow.

I've got two twister mufflers and love the way it sounds in the cab. Now when I'm on the outside, when my wife is showing it to one of her "GIRLFRIENDS" and i mean girlfriends, thats how we roll swinger style................................... love you ali! anyhow it sounds like a sewing machine until it hits the power band, then all hell breaks loss and it's v10 goodness!

DO NOT USE ANY 40 SERIES MUFFLER with catless mids! I REPEAT DO NOT USE ANY 40 SERIES MUFFLER with catless mids! I had one for a month. Got pulled over 3 times, and it really sounded ricer from about 1800-3500rpms. I swapped to a 70 series big block muffler and it is perfect. Still has a mean growl, but it's bearable. If you use a 40 series muffler I garranty you will not like it and it will be a waste of time and money.

I had the Flowmaster 50 series Dual installed and it sounds awesome, nice rumble when idling, good sound during acceleration and not too loud in the cab at all.
