So i am still trying to find the missing 100+ Rwhp so in the meantime this winter when the truck is parked i am going to buy headers.

So my questions is which ones should i go with:

- The American Racing long tube with highflow cats, stainless steel

- The Belanger headers longtube with cats, Ceramic coated aluminum pipe

I was thinking about getting the American racing headers and possibly get them ceramic coated. Any others options are welcome.

you will be able to acces the rest of the hp in the roe when you forge the internals and step up the pulleys to get 10-12 psi.

i would not spend my money on headers, not worth the 10hp. THe jmb catless mids (or with highflows) are a definate must though

i Have American Racing long tubes. They took too long to get built, but turned out wonderful. I picked up 40 Solid RWHP in an 06 QC Auto with them. I have had the set on 3 different trucks. They keep on changing just fine.

Where's Nowwhat when you need him... lol. :D  :p

he needs not to be around anymore..I think the 10.7 run and 700+hp

he made thru stock ehaust manifolds before he went built is enough proof for

me:congrats:

Stock headers result in more back pressure. Back pressure results in more heat in the heads. More heat in the heads can result in detonation.

I don't need to tell anyone what detonation can do to one of these engines, so choose wisely.

Stock manifolds will not flow to much.

In Mike's case, the mufflers he had were the weak link and failed.

This no header mind set must be a California thing. My guess is it's the smog that has rotted out the part of your brains related to common sense. ;) :D

i think your right, either the smog or the sunshine:p :D

But seriously, in honor of Mr brady,

The stock exhaust manifolds flow very well on the gen 3 viper motor. well

enough that the "best" hi flow exhaust b and b gave way.

the cast iron manifolds on todays motors are leaps beyond those on from 60

's and 70's which we were swapping out for a nice set of hooker headers.

but put it like this..

1-2k dollars for 10-15hp, count me out.

Most of the HP that comes from long tubes is the deletion of cats and 3"

midpipes.

I do have headers on my other cars, but they were only 150 for the set

LT headers may not be the best bang for your buck, but they definitely sound & look MUCH better than oem..........

Mostly for me though, it was because it made my midpipes ~2 feet shorter & a ton easier to swap out for catted mids if DEQ required it in the future...... :)

I have a complete mopar exhaust for an 06 that I will make you a deal on. The headers and mids have just been recoated and the catback is still new in the box. Also have new oem gaskets, stage8 header and collector bolts. The only thing missing are the O2 extensions and collector gaskets. I don't know what the shipping to Canada would be though.

Frame interference on one side I believe was the issue.
