so i just got home from work and i read everyone post carefully, and yes i was going to make a bullet proof bottom end before i was going to plop a SC on. The real question i had was the difference in blower to centrifugal SC's and i believe it was answered but i want to make sure i got it right
Roe Blower is capable of 700hp and is very torky from a stop. but someone said there coming out with an upgraded cooler that could boost the competition. putting out bigger numbers like a centrifugal SC?
the centrifugal SC puts out a lot more power over all and has a stronger top end, am i right? so its basically like a turbo? kinda..
So if a blower type raced a centrifugal type the blower type would smoke it off the line but the centrifugal would come back and blow the doors off of it, is what you guys are saying correct?
does anyone have a link to a turbo set up for our trucks? i was just curious about the pricing and all, i know its going to be a good bit more i would believe.
There are some fine twin turbo's around (Dom, Hilgee and Stinker are good examples).
Your comment about the Twin Screw vrs the Centrifugal is kind of correct but there are lots of other variables...those of us with the Roe have immediate power, but our torque makes getting traction from a stop difficult at best, I have spent possibly 20% of my modification dollars on traction which is still somewhat elusive.
You still have not addressed what you want to do with your machine...there are lots of routes to strong performance, but what you want as an end product is critical, because the paths are different depending on the desired end product.
If you are interested in over 1000 rwhp, you probably should start with a four-link, and tub your bed for some over-sized meat to get the hp to the ground, and your bottom end needs some pretty special adaptations not just a forged rebuild.
So again I urge you to think about where you are going...(begin with the end in mind!) and enjoy the trip...because you will always "Drive it like you stole it" if you are like most of us.
Dollar resources are another consideration...this is one of the most expensive vehicles you will ever modify. Our current record holder spent well over $100k. There is a $200k build in process and the end is not in sight on that one. Mine is a street quick machine at about 700 rwhp that is not designed for the strip...I have about $65k in it.
You will need a high quality tuner, that is highly experienced with your type of FI and the kind of tuning you decide on.
That might even be a good starting point...what technical resources are available to you in PA...then decide based on that person's input...you will need high level technical assistance.
