Whine type sound - Thoughts?

You may want to start bringing your own oil filter. The Mopar oil filter from Wal-Mart is the best one.

The mopar one is a little thinner than the viper one ( i cut them apart, there is a differance). And last time I was at the dealer they where 10bucks each and 3 for 25. I thought I was gonna have to do the valve thingy ZCX did, but after I put the black filter on the whine went away. Just a thought.

power steering pump

I had a weird whine when my hydraulic fan motor bit it. A similar, but not quite the same noise came back when the P/S lines started leaking. Went away when I put Stink's on.

But all of those were definitely RPM dependent.

Check your power steering fluid level.
