Who is Running the General Grabber Tires?

I just put the Continental UHP on mine last week. What a difference... I like this tire a lot. 686.00 installed with tax... and got a free megellan gps with the purchase

I will get them at Morgan's tire...they are on Center Street in the Highland area of town.....I plan to be at Bristol either Jun 26 or 28 Ken...maybe we can meet up...I would like to see how yours does in the 1/4 with the Roe SCT flash....I can get a couple of SRT8 guys to meet us so we can beat up on them..;)

My understanding is Conti now owns General?...so probably same tire?

I just ordered the BF Goodrich's. I wanted a softer tire for the road course and our curvy mountain roads. The BFG's are rated at 300 tread and most of the other tires are rated at 420.

The generals are rated at 320...I started to buy the BFGs but after speaking to several that had them none said they would buy them again...though handling was considered excellent so they may work well for you..

I just put a set on mine.So far so good.Chewed up the back ones doing a burnout on a rough road! Oooop's.A couple more burnouts on a good road and they will be fine. I like them ALOT better then the stockers.

Thanks for the responses...looks like General may have changed a lot from the Company I knew years ago. The positive responses here backup what I have read when researching the tires on the net. I was hesitant to even consider General due to their reputation from many years ago.

Looks like I will have some new shoes by next week.

The Generals are an upgrade from the Pirelli's for everyday driving and are a great rain tire! They dont perform as well as the Perelli's when pushed hard for any significant durations.

Most people would like them and for the price I have no complaints ;) Considering I get about 6-7k miles out of a set they were worth a shot.

I have them and like them a LOT !!!! Much better than Pirellis.Pirellis do have a higher speed rating,BUT who drives at sustained 150+ mph ?

The Generals have better traction, wet and dry, better cornering, and look better.Best of all is the super price (at least for me,I don't have the seemingly limitless funds of other members)

I got a set at 11K and I have 17K on the truck now. I love em. The hardest part for me was finding a tire shop that had them in stock. I found a Big O store here in Sacramento that just happens to keep a couple sets of them on hand. I couldn't even get them from Tirerack at the time. They were back-ordered from the manufacturer.

   love mine also to :congrats: :congrats: :congrats:
got them at online tire. still cheaper than gettin them local. includin shippin

U wont be soory.Thay a great tires for the price.I think Tire rack had them for around 158.00 each +shipping. The tread design looks awesome IMO.

Larry, did you get the Generals and how do you compare the straight line traction with the Pirelli's? I'm also considering them. My options for the 24's are the Pirelli's, the Generals or the Yokohama Parada Spec x.

I do have them and have been holding off commenting till I got some miles on them....impressions so far..

Ride...better than the Ps...smoother and no "hunting" the road when going thru ruts..

Handling....Feel great in the curves but really dont have a bench mark to compare with the Ps. A couple of members here that do road race said they do not handle quite as well.

Tread...I liked the tread when I saw the un-mounted tires but after they were mounted they looked more like 4-wheel drive off road tires.

Rain...It has never rained in my garage so I dont know.:dontknow:

Traction...with the Pirellis my best 60' at the drag strip was 1.9X....I took the truck to the track last week and never could get better than a 2.4.....but that could be caused by the difference in tuning. The 1.9s were done before I had the truck tuned...I gained about 100LBTQ after the tuning....I would just say that the Generals are probably not as good a track tire as the Pirellis..

For the street I would recommend the Generals....if you track your truck and are heavily modded the Generals are not for you..IMO
