Guy, give it up... this is a site for Viper trucks. You can't win here. Most of it is about personal opinion... we obviously like the 10.

The 10 is built better... the L looks and feels cheap. The 10 turns heads, the L does not. There are guys on here that are pretty much stock that roll into car shows and win. The L could never do that! The looks of the 10 destroy the L, but that's just my opinion.
You can have a manual tranny or a quad cab with the 10, not so much with the L. Nice 22inch wheels vs some shitty 18s. How about luxury options??? Heated seats? Nav? Sunroof? etc...

I'm on a very small Army post, and there are 3 Lightnings here... I'm the only 10:D

It's not just about speed;)

If somebody told me that they bought a TRUCK for the sole purpose of going fast... I'd call them a douche:p

I know what site i'm on and i'm not trying to "win" anything. I'm doing what I would do if lightning guys were saying the same stuff about the srt10 on a lightning forum, telling it how it is with an un-bias opinion as i'm a car enthusiast to the full extent. Everything you stated is mere personal opinion. Not to mention the last production year for the lightning was 2004, which was the first for the viper truck. The luxury options you speak of became available in the later years of the srt10's production I believe as it's a newer vehicle and those options became more common in cars in the past 4 years. In terms of why most people bought a sport truck, they are a coin toss which will come down to personal opinion. Just like the Mustang vs Camaro.. all in what brand you want. Also, Lightnings were also limited production, roughly 5k made a year and i've seen 3 10's to ever L in my area so.. I like chocolate ice cream.

i don't see anything wrong with an L owner being on here...I like the mix and seeing the other sides view...I'm actually a member on a L forum b/c a friend of mine owns an L....
The trucks are very comparable, and at the same time 2 different animals.....The L is a lightweight smaller looking truck, the Ram, I feel, doesn't sway as much as a L does and the Ram's engine is all about torque especially on top end where it runs free on the highway...
Also the Ram can tow and be used as a truck especially the QC.... can the L tow this with 1100 lbs of prefab fence panels in the bed?

Thanks man. I'm a member here due to friends having/had srt10's and it's nice to have people besides your own brand that share the interest in sport trucks haha. I've towed my cobra with my lightning without any problem, multiple street bikes and have had 40 plus bags of mulch in the bed while load down with two palettes of mulch on a trailer. Does all I would need it to do.

VTCOA stands for VIPER TRUCK club of america. I dont see anything about any other kind of truck mentioned, do you? Go back to your L sight and join your chump ass friends. I guess you are here because you envy our 10's and are just another chump ass troll . At least you could own some kind of mopar product to gain some respect. You are here for what? DEEZ NUTZ YO!

No. I'm here for previous stated reasons. Not to mention i've been a member here quite longer than you and most of the other guys, some troll huh? So, as I requested twice about you meeting at the actual vtcoa meets and racing.. you have yet to acknowledge my open invitation to race a "chump" lightning for money at a track. Internet racers crack me up. Did your parents buy your truck for you too? Or is it your dads and he lets you wash it on the weekends?

I stated right off the bat that most of it is PERSONAL OPINION. I think the 10 is a nicer all round vehicle. If I thought differently, I would have bought a L... just like everybody else here. The same goes for L owners, which is why I'm not on your forum trying to say my shit is the best. Pretty simple.

They built almost 40k Lightnings, and only 9k or so SRT10s. I'd say the 10 is a bit more rare;)

3 production years of Gen 1 lightnings and 6 production years of gen 2 lightnings vs 3 production years of the srt10 with their last year being the final try at selling them, which might make them rare in that aspect or maybe makes them not as good as a seller as the lightning ;) either way you look at it both of them are in a league well beyond any of the other brands attempts at "sport trucks" ... I feel like if gas prices and the economy wasn't such a shit hole, we'd see the want for more production trucks being geared towards performance. In reality, it's just hard to sell a truck like yours or mine with things being so far in debt and taking a risk of having to re-engineer many things that cost a lot of money with maybe not the best return. Business speaking that is.

Fu$kin........Old...........Rebuilt............Dodge:D

I love my SRT 10. I also love that their is good competition for the SRT 10...

We are only as good as what we can beat...Their is no doubt in my mind that

their is finally SRTs coming steping up... We finally have many trucks in the 11's..

3 years ago it almost seemed impossible. As time goes on we will continue to

find new products and strive for lower times.

But since were on subject bout which is better...

heres one that is always beat on

Weight---SRT is clearly the heavier truck..However our frames our completely boxed from front to back...If you take a look at a Lightning frame they are not..Composed of C channel frame..some Trucks have had the frame flex so much that the bed has hit the cab. They had to fab up frame stiffeners...

So with that said, Im ok with my trucks extra weight...

Whoever took the time to write up this article is clearly dissapointed that Ford failed. The Lightning is a nice truck and I admit that. I would have considered the lightning if they weren't all auto. IMO, a performance vevicle should have the fun of a manual gearbox. It seperates the feel of a Taurus from a Mustang.
