Why are the tires?

Why are the front tires showing more wear then the rears? The wear is not uneven and the truck doesn't pull to either side. Any ideas?
 
could be suspension causing wear, but the front will wear quicker then the rear on normal cases, that's why its good to rotate them as often as possible.
 
How often do you rotate them? They are supposed to be rotated every 5000 to 6000 miles.

I didn't know that. I have rotated them. Maybe it is time to do it again. But I have over 20K miles on them. Getting close to having to get some new ones.
 
Perhaps due to the uneven braking load always being heavier on the front?
Just taking a wild guess...
 
i have 4 with really good rubber in my shed ill make you a deal on i bought them from mopower at the nats for 100.00 you pay the shipping and ill send them to you, for the same money i think one of them has a nailhole in it but can be patched. would be fine on the rear.

I measured the tread on the tires. The front have less tread then the rear. The wear is even. Just seeing more wear on the fronts.

That would be helpful. I have a screw in the right rear. It's in the side wall, so I can't patch it. I'm just trying to hold off on getting new tires. I will send you a PM.
 
Hey Smoke...

If the front's are wearing out faster than the rears that means you are doing a lot of turning when the truck is stopped...in the driveway etc....or what I call driving like a chick.....very common among Navy guys

braking is predomin. on the front and the truck being heavy with the engine weight on the front, the the front wheels "push" a bit around corners which scrubs the tread down.
that and driving like a girl.........:D
