Just wondering why they make the SRT8 Jeep (AWD) but they do not make a charger/magnum, heck even an AWD SRT4 Neon would be awesome!! I bring the Jeep up because that; SRT proves it can be done!!

The SRT lines are becoming very popular among performance consumers. Maybe we will see the other SRT lines in other Mopar models. I've seen the new SRT Caliber. The Caliber is not my cup of tee but proves more models are being geared towards the SRT line.

The Caliber is not my cup of tea for a SRT also! However anything SRT&AWD would have my total ATTENTION!! The heep i cannot afford! Have they had any problems with the AWD on the Jeep?

The harsh reality: SALES.

The Jeep SRT is easy for them to do: they already have a great AWD platform (read: chassis) to work from.
Other vehicles- like the Charger and Manwagon- would require a new platform, or (at the very least) a seriously upgraded current platform.

All that costs money.
Consumers get to cover that extra money.
If you thought there was a premium put on the Jeep SRT-8, think about what it would be if they had to come up with a whole new platform!
You'd be looking at a $50,000 - $65,000 sticker.

It sucks, but that's how it works.

The SRT line of vehicles- while some of the most badass ever offered by a major automaker- are not huge sellers. My guess is that they amount to about 1% - 5% of overall sales.

A sad example would be the SRT-6 Crossfire. It's a FANTASTIC little coupe: tons of power, great handling, sleek looks. The Crossfire borrowed it's platform from one of the mid-level Mercedes models (SLK), and they put the Crossfire body on it. Ahhh...the good ol' days...when they could borrow stuff from one of the premier German automakers and their subsidiary companies (AMG, who built the supercharged engine for the SRT-6).

Today, Chrysler can't GIVE THEM AWAY.
Why not? This is going to sound silly but it's the truth: Because you can't fit (2) grown men and (2) bags of golf clubs in it.
That's the unwritten standard for performance coupes. The Viper ***barely*** manages both requirements....as long as neither guy is an offensive lineman.

I'm with you though: An AWD Charger SRT-8 would be AWESOME! It would have been fairly easy to take the 4-Matic system from MB and adapt it to the Charger, but that train has sailed.

I've decided that the Caliber is Dodge's answer to the Pontiac Asstec (Aztec).:puke:

Though the SRT version interests me, right now I've decided against one. AWD would've been cool...
