I'm thinking that the people that run from something like that aren't likely to arm themselves anyway.

Armed or not I couldn't stand by and watch that happen. Might not be the smartest move, but how in hell could you look at yourself in the mirror every morning knowing you let that happen?

People who have never been exposed to violence, especially extreme violence will often freeze(we call it the deer in the headlight's reaction).
