Wtf

i was thinking last night and this crossed my mind. With this mileage you could have dirty injectors that are causing a lean condition leading to detonatation. I would take the truck to a dealership for a fuel injector flush or at a minimum run a few cans of the fuel additive cleaner to the tank and change the fuel filter.

he is gonna bring me the truck on sunday . Im gonna take off the injectors and clean everything the best I can

weak rod bolts stretching, allowing the piston to travel to far at high rpm, next step is kablooey

that can only happen if I put a huge hood scoop on

The Rod bolts in these engines are not weak. No rumors need to get started.

yup.

Apparently you don't read much on this forum... There are plenty of guys who have well over 91K on their motors and run them hard without issues. Some even spray generous amounts of nitrous with over 100K on the clock without issues!!!

if you do good maintenance on them they will last a very long time. this guys truck looks like no maintenance was every done.

E, can we see a high resolution picture of the tip of the spark plug?

overnight me your camera to take some.

It's in the mail. Should be there tomorrow. But it's signature required, so don't leave the house until you get it.

I would stand by the mailbox personally, wouldn't want to risk missing it.

E send me the camera next, I wanna put some pics on it too. This is a close group, hell everyone should get to put a pic or two on it. Should we start a poll?

Not the best argument for beating the shit out of your ride but it is sorta true in the fact there is never a shortage of guys doing stupid shit to their srts...

100k on a vehicle isn't what it use to be. Many of these newer motors show very little wear when torn apart with many miles to upgrade them.

soooooooo, running a vehicle hard that is designed to run hard and using nitrous is "stupid shit"??

Pretty much... Especially nitrous... If you want something to last you take care of it... If you want something that is limited in numbers to retain its value you don't abuse it, cut it up, etc...

No, I read plenty about the stupid things some people here do to their trucks. They are on here every day asking how to diagnose or repair the issue they have caused. I probably read more than I should as the idiotic stupidity is actually sickening.

Go on a viper site, you don't see 3/4 of the idiotic issues you see here.

And, here, beating the balls off it is condoned until it goes up for sale, then the seller gets tagteamed for trying to sell a truck that's had the shit beaten out of it. This site is better than a Carfax to find out how it's had the shit beaten out of it.

There's a big difference to running it hard and beating the balls off it.

There are people that know HOW to drive a high performance vehicle and there are people that THINK they do.

And who gets to decide the difference between run hard and beat balls? ??

It's a mechanical device, regardless of the type of operation, something will fail, somewhere, sometime. Maybe we should make a sticky with a list of things you shouldn't do to a high performance vehicle so we don't mess up their value later on.
Personally I would like a lesson on the "proper" way to drive a high performance vehicle.

Oh yeah, as a percentage of ownership, I bet more truck owners have to work (I mean real work, not deciding to do real carbon fiber or wrapping their dash bezels ) on their own vehicles on a budget compared to viper owners going to the dealership for a $1800 change of coils and wires

Anyone can take their toy to a shop. But not everyone has the balls to turn the wrenches themselves and risk the live and learn experience. Which I believe to be the real fun part of owning one of these machines.
