Wtf

seeing some of the things done to srt's... there is no short supply of idiots...

Oh yeah, as a percentage of ownership, I bet more truck owners have to work (I mean real work, not deciding to do real carbon fiber or wrapping their dash bezels ) on their own vehicles on a budget compared to viper owners going to the dealership for a $1800 change of coils and wires

Wow. Even though i think your an idiot i agree with your statement :D

First you guys thought these trucks were like vipers, now your expecting the fools that buy them not to be stupid? That's just retarded...Carry on:):)

Please tell me whos these idiots.

We'll start with the guys who notch frame rails, argue with dan lesser on the posts hes made and ease in to the cutters of factory harnesses and bypassers of switches....but hack away, make mine more rare...

And I think the point that was made about viper owners has nothing to do with working on your own ride, it has to do with not seeing viper guys do (or pay a guy to do) the above mentioned stupid shit...

Oh and if your welds don't like a roll of dimes, they have no business on a SRT...

I totally agree with you. Ive seen alot of fucked up work from owners. But you know what. Its their truck and let them fuck it up. Ive helped tons of people with different vehicles over the years that have hacked and cut the dumbest shit. But its called learning. Maybe they shouldpic a different vehicle to learn but its their money.

That baby is detonating like a mofo...Is there a catch can on this truck? If not I wonder if the blow by is getting bad at WOT but isn't so bad under normal driving to notice. If it has a catch can start checking for other detonation sources fuel being first.

weak rod bolts stretching, allowing the piston to travel to far at high rpm, next step is kablooey

Piston cannot contact plug. It would smash into head and destroy itself first. ;)

not starting a rumor, the ones in that truck could be sub standard, manufacturering tolerances out of whack. just because 10,000 sets work right doesn't mean 1 set can't fail.

either something (rod bolt, rod, piston pin) is allowing the piston to go too far into the combustion chamber OR the spark plug is too long (previous set and new set) or someone tried silicone for head gasket or super thin one (which i don't see accounting for that movement)
you really thin detonation caused the strap to be bent one ALL the pistons without really eating up the rest of the spark plug?? could be i guess

See above post! Piston can't go Into chamber nor will plug extend too far into the chamber.

Someone drop it on the floor before installing it? Doesn't look like the piston hit it but you never know. Is compression good on that cylinder?

See above post lol!
Carbon buildup on the piston top? How many miles? You might have to shim them so they get more clearance.

Even carbon buildup couldn't make piston hit plug. I gotta go with detonation.
Check fuel pressure, tune, A/F, timing, etc
Bad gas? 87 Octane?
