For all of you waiting, I will sell you mine for a small discount over new. If you have a B&M and want to upgrade to this shifter, I will consider a trade plus cash.

Rick

reason for selling, I am unhappy with the shifter and wish to replace it.

Did you try to send it back to Boomer? He should stand behind it.:dontknow:

what is it that you're unhappy about the gen4 shifter ?? i've heard boomer stands behind his work & i'm sure he'd want to help rectify any issue you may have.....:D

Sending it back will not cure the things I do not like about it, it is designed the way it is designed, and I am not pleased with the way it is designed and the way it operates. It is not a "fixable" problem, therefore I wish to sell it.

If Gary wishes you to know the issues I have experienced with the shifter, he can tell you himself, this is not not place to air out problems, I just have a piece of equipment for sale and this is the for sale forum.

Wild guess..............this young man is an audiofile...loves great sound, has spent alot of $$'s to get his truck to a point where he can enjoy the sound system. There is transmission noise that is unavoidable with a performance shifter. It has some resonance and gear sound that is acceptable to most of us, but if you have spent lots of money getting a strong audio environment, then the transmission gear noise would just be unacceptable.

Just my opinion. And I understand both sides...the shifter solves the issue of missing third gear under load...the trade off is doing away with the stock rubber insulator and having a direct link to the shifting mechanism...to some the added noise in the cab will not be acceptable.

Life is a serries of trade-offs.

Sorry Prof is on his platform again.

I don't think Rick is saying his shifter is no good. I think he is saying its not the perfect choice for what he wants. I have a gen IV that I have not installed yet, but I have shifted Madduc's gen IV and I like it. The gen IV is a no compromise shifter, for everyday street driving it may not be for everyone. I also like the Detroit locker diff,. but it can be difficult to live with also, to each their own.
Just so there is NO misunderstanding, the Detroit Locker I have is NOT in my SRT-10, its in my other truck.
Bill.

Bill, that was about 2500 miles ago. It's even better now, if thats possible. It's a little smoother plus it 'snicks'(snap+click) into gear soooo precise:burnout:  :D I've forgotten what it is like to miss a shift!!

The operative comment. This was the design concept and goal...I feel the same about mine.

If you are really that low minded, then maybe I will just ship it to your house and you can throw it away for me.

Nah, you would turn it around and sell it here.

Stupid me, for offering someone here a good deal on a piece of equipment is such high demand that members can't seem to get it soon enough.

Good call on the audiophile part, but noise is not at all a factor.

If it was I would just turn up the volume! :burnout:

I have actually insulated the noise quite well, and would pass that technique along to the potential buyer.

Low minded?:dontknow: So tell us why don't you like the shifter? Oh, and I never sold anything here. Not yet anyway.:)

When Boomers first shifter came out there were people whom did not like it. The big issue was the noise. Some people claimed it to have unbearable noise. Some people did not like how it hit the console. Mine had noise and hits the console but I was able to adjust it to where I was happy.

Rick if your not happy with the shifter thats ok, but we all learn from others experiences. When Red007 wrote the review, he said this shifter is not for everyone. We would just like to hear your opinion, thats all. Its not Boomer bashing, its just your opinion.

Patrick, you are such an accomodator...your wife must think you are a Saint.

Your comments are pithy and right on...

P.S. Your name is a proper noun...proper nouns are capitolized...when you use the lower case at the start of a proper noun, people will think that you have a poor opinion of yourself...we all love you and respect you...no matter how you spell your name...Bruddah.

As I have one on order from boomer now, Rick please tell us your issues with the shifter. I have driven devildogs truck with it and I ordered one immediately. This being said, I have only experienced it for a few minutes and if there are problems other than harmonics I would certainly like to know.

Who you calling "pithy"? What the hell is pithy? LOL And my lower case proper noun spellling is my artistic expression of my name. I feel the lower p has a nice flow with the other letters than the upper case p. Its a "fung sway" thing for me!:p :p LOL ............. I like to be different................like being 42 and having a ponytail!!! LOL

Oh yeah, no wife yet, but I do have a beautiful local girl GF whom loves me very much!;)
